This was something I had always dreamed of, seeing PNC Park jammed pack for a playoff game. When it finally became a reality in 2013, I just had no words. For the success The Steelers and Penguins have had over the last 15-20 years, Pittsburgh does love it's baseball. If you put a winning team on the field, the fans will come as attributed to this in 2013.

Imma younger pirates fan, 2013 was the first time I had gotten to see our team make the playoffs, out of all the Steelers penguins and pirates games I’ve watched I think this was the most special. It just sucked how it ended because I feel like we could’ve beaten the cardinals, I really really hope we can make it to the post season again sometime soon.

My biggest regret in my life, not even sports specific but in general, is not backing it to Pittsburgh for this game. My father was born and raised in the Burgh prior to his military service in San Diego. When I eventually was born it was black and gold from birth to death, there was never another option.
2013 I was 23-24, young adult, who just went back to college for finance after being an idiot from 18-23. I obviously knew how rare this was. I knew and tortured through the losing seasons, but just couldn’t make it happen then. Now it wouldn’t even be a choice, I’d be going even if I had to go into debt to do (not really but you get the point). I hope I get another opportunity.

My main point was, I’ve been to super bowls, afc championships games in Pittsburgh, been to Stanley cups, through the tv I could tell this game was nothing like anything I had experienced in person.

Over 10 years later, I still get goosebumps rewatching this. Being their live with my dad for this game on my birthday will be one of my favorite memories of all time. My dad and I still talk about this game to this day!

As a Pirates fan at this game it was something special about that particular game that always stuck to me Even though the penguins won back to back Stanley cups seeing the old days when the pirates were one of the best in the MLB and a packed crowd at PNC for October Baseball is just something rare now days very sad The Nostalgia also hit me very hard

This was maybe the most consequential game in Pirates history. No, it wasn’t the World Series (particularly 1960) but it came after decades of losing, brought to you by one of the most beloved Pirates lineups in memory.

It's amazing to see a packed house like this and then not invest to recreate it. I bet this was the most profitable game in the history of PNC park.
