    TIP: For anyone with this kit or similar and is still having issues after wiring it like the video here is a fix. Plug the pins into the connector just as it shows in the video. When you plug the connector into the red part on the ballast just flip them around on both of them. Mine actually had a positive and a negative mark on each one to match them up. So you’ll want the positive side to go into negative slot and the negative side to go into the positive side if that makes sense. Many hours of frustration and this is what finally got mine to work correctly.

    I had the same problem with my h4 kit.. .they had the wire leads all in the wrong place, Hi was in the low spot... glad ground was right or maybe BOOM.
    mine lasted a loooong time... I did have a ballast die, but $20 to replace.

    4300k is the best brightest colour to have, you loose some luminance at 5000k, but still useable, I hate 6-8 thousand k lights, I threw my 6000k halogen in the garbage because I couldn't see in the rain with them, thanks for the info.

    Great vid man, i have the same kit. 2 questions: #1.....for the passenger side oem connector in the harness do you just tape it up to keep the moisture out? #2...... On the hid bulb itself, do you remove the metal cage around it? I just want to maximize light ouput and concentration, my toyota has really reflective material in the housing itself.

    Hi eacardoc1,
    I never heard of the actual bulb moving up and down to switch from low to high beam. All of the Bi Xenon HID retro's I've been looking at, the switching between the low and high function is done with a small solenoid activated deflector/cutoff within the projector itself. the deflector is normally up when using the low beams, and drops down for full light output when going to high beams. Is DDM Tuning still selling the type of kit you installed? Learn something new every day. Are those kits still working for you. And which one do you think is the best from DDM Tuning that you installed. Thanks for posting. All the best.

    I installed a H4 conversion kit on my Nissan Np300. But one of my bulbs keeps going off or not responding. Since each bulb has an earth cable must i put both on the car body? Or must i install one on the battery ??

    The problem with having HID installed on the vehicle is, people installed them on a stock headlight lens that are not designed for HiD 's ! So when driving down the road they are fucking annoying to the other drivers..they look like high beams are on all the time ... if your going to install them , do it correctly and get after market hid lens if you don't already have the proper lens on the vehicle!! Other than that it's all good..

    Hi. Are the Xenon kits (of each manufacturer) essentially the same (components, ballasts, etc.)? By that I mean that can you install a particular kit in a car with H4 bulbs, and then later remove the kit from the H4 bulb car and install to another car (that takes H1 bulbs) with putting H1 bulbs? Or do yo have to buy an H1 kit?

    looking at the ballast LOL,,,can it get any bigger??? :) Ballasts are too bulky! Is it AC ballast or DC? I would go with Sportiva or Opt7 kit ,,much cleaner one and more reliable ballast!
    However ,,,,I know Xentec said their kits have 2 year warranty!

    • @eacardoc1
      @eacardoc1  Před 8 lety

      Well...I have installed several HID kits and I have never bothered to disconnect the battery but I'm sure it's probably a good idea as a saftey precaution since the ballasts put out around 23,000 volts to light the HID bulbs.

    • @eacardoc1
      @eacardoc1  Před 7 lety +1

      Drew Cohn This 55 watt kit actually still worked over a year later when I upgraded to LEDs but they weren't as bright as when I first installed them. The Xentec 35 watt kit I installed in a different vehicle was junk! The 55 watt DDM tuning HIDS are still working good over a year later but they are really slow on shipping... I have videos on all 3 kits. I have also used DDM tunings "ultra" hid kits with good results but I don't have a video of them yet...

    • @drewcohn6522
      @drewcohn6522 Před 7 lety

      35W won't be as bright as the 55W kit. I'd almost bite the bullet and get the 55W for your money's worth

    • @Kaiser187
      @Kaiser187 Před 7 lety

      Drew Cohn
      I been doing research and ALOT of people get butthurt when you say you're putting a HID kit on non projector headlights. I have a 93 accord and it has glass headlights not the shitty plastic ones that new cars have. I could run anything without melting mine but I don't wanna be a hazard on the road. Zentec HIDs are garbage though.
