  • UPDATE 01Jan21 Vehicle sold but lights still working when sold. UPDATE 08/01/19 One of the ballast has gone bad. Replaced ballast and working like normal. The other one no issues at all yet. They have been great lights. My review of the xentec 55w 6000k HID slim ballast kit. I also included a short how to install and comparison to stock headlights video. Hope you enjoy the video. I know I butchered the name but it is what it is. Hopefully this will help with any questions you have with the kit and the install. Thanks for watching. Please leave a like and comment if you have any questions. Tried to make a short and sweet video to a degree. The vehicle in the video is a 2017 Honda Accord Sport with the projector headlights. Thank you

    Super helpful, thank you. I have a bulb out, a replacement does not ignite. Appears I need to try a new ballast. Should be fun removing the old one.

      It very well could be the ballast. They may have changed the design since the video so it's possible they may not be compatible. I would reach out to the company's customer service and they should be able to take care of you.

    Goodnight. I installed a 55w and 6000k kit in my 2016 honda civic and I just want to know if the xenon heat does not damage the magnifying glass over time?

    Old vid but gotta ask. I researched and what I learned is with the more powerfull 55w ballast, the kelvin color should drop since hid colors are rated with 35w output. Did your 6000k bulbs look more white or where they still kinda blue?

    • @ffownage
      @ffownage  Před 4 lety

      Thanks for the comment. In my opinion they were still pretty white. We never had anyone mention a blue color to them. They matched the favtory led lights that were in the headlights and fog lights

      At 55W I have 8000K and they’re white with a nice blue tint too it. But more white. Luxury look 💯

    I don’t think you’ll see this but worth a try I bought these for my civic si 2015 & they are going into my custom made headlights now the thing is I have extra harness and idek where I’m suppose to connect them so I’m kinda confused

    • @ffownage
      @ffownage  Před 4 lety

      I wish I had an answer on how to connect it into the civic. I recommend messaging the buyer and asking for better installation instructions. It's supposed to be plug and play but it may differ from the accord to the civic.

    Should of used the adhesive pads to help absorb vibration than use zipties to hold down

    • @ffownage
      @ffownage  Před 2 lety

      The zipties worked very well for me with this application. I didn't use the adhesive pads that came with it because they were cheap in my opinion. I was worried they wouldn't hold with the heat. You could absolutely use a combination of the adhesive pads and zip ties if wanted to help with the vibration.

    • @detroitrcwurks998
      @detroitrcwurks998 Před 2 lety +1

      @@ffownage im not saying the zipties are bad im saying to add tue adhesive pads underneath to act as a absorbent for shock impact and vibration from the road. Over time it will ruin electronics possibly.

      @detroitrcwurks998 Před 2 lety +1

      @@ffownage yeah it will be alright. If we were to do it again i think we should go with a better brand to be honest. These need to be tak'n apart and better waterproofed to start off with. I had to buy the Lasfut anti flicker cancellor capacitor boxes. Very nice aluminum casings with heatsinks as they do get pretty hot running 16v.

      @ffownage  Před 7 lety +1

      Sachin Nair they are holding up great. I haven't had any issues with them. When you install them use gloves and don't hit the bulbs against anything. If for some reason you get a bad bulb or ballast they will replace it for free. Customer service is great with the actual company. I've only had that happen one time out of 4 kits. They all were working when I replaced vehicles.
