I spent one week in Florence, years ago. I enjoyed going out of my hotel and just walking, getting lost and stumbling into small areas that tourists weren't in. Florence is such a nice town to visit and immerse yourself in. I was able to take a daytrip to Pisa and a daytrip to Assisi. It was one of my best foreign trips.
That sounds like a wonderful visit and my ideal way to see a new city! Getting lost is wonderful and so many people don't have time to do that. Good for you that you were able to see and enjoy so much. Thanks for watching my video and for your comments!
Fabulous fabulous fabulous soooo good thank you
Thank you so much! I'm really glad you liked the video - it's a subject near and dear to my heart and I wanted to share these beautiful works of art!
Oh my! We saw the two at Santa Croce but missed the others. Our 7 days in Firenze were just barely enough to scratch the surface. One of our favorite museums was the Opificio delle Pietre Dure. I think there were only 3 other people there when we visited. Then we went to the amazing Scarpelli Mosaici - Artigianato Artistico e Mosaico Fiorentino and were able to purchase two small masterpieces. Since I don't think we will be able to get back to Italy I really appreciate your making these wonderful videos. The future of our world travels will be through the eyes of content creators like you. Mille grazie!
Wow it sounds like you really did see some special places in Florence. That museum of the Pietre Dure is little known but amazing.
I'm sorry to hear you won't be visiting Italy again but grateful you find that watching my videos helps bring it back for you! Thanks so much for watching and for your kind comments.
Great video! Thank you very much. Maybe you could do a video about all the different David? We are going to Italy next January and your channel is an inspiration for our trip. Isabela and Andrei.
Thank you so much! I'm really glad you enjoyed the video. Yes, what a great idea to talk about the different sculptures of David! I'll see what I can do. Thanks very much for your kind comments and for letting me know my channel inspires you!
Great.
Beautiful art and sites. The Allori painting near the end is stunning.
Thank you so much for your comments. I am really glad you enjoyed the video and all the different paintings. I so enjoyed finding them all and filming them for you guys!
I’m going to visit this for sure. Thanks ma’am!
I hope you will! Thanks for watching!
Thanks!
Thank you so much! So kind of you! I really appreciate it :)
I bought a ticket (in advance) to see this in 2015 but when I got there, they said that it was closed for the day. I was livid.
I need to go back to Florence to see The Last Supper and to visit The Accademia.
Which site were you trying to see? I completely understand how frustrating it is when you make a plan to see something and then it's closed, sometimes for no obvious reason. I hope you'll be able to come back soon and see the sites you want to see!
@Romewise I had a ticket to see The Last Supper but the church was closed that day (not a Monday) for some odd reason.
@Romewise I also saw a copy of Michaelangelo's David at the square near Uffzi Gallery. But looking back, I should've went to The Accademia to see the real statue. However, I didn't have enough time in Florence at that time.
Yes it's amazing to see the original, but I'm glad you even got to see the copy in Piazza della Signoria. Hopefully you'll see Michelangelo's David next time you visit! @@lilpenny1982
Ah that's a shame! @@lilpenny1982
Great tips! Suggestion :best pizza or gelato( as that is the REAl reason we visit Italy)
Thank you! Ahhh, yes food, of course - more videos to come about this in 2024!
