Until you isolated it I hadn't noticed that the synth bass you hear when the cats are dancing in the laundry almost reverberates like purring. That must have been deliberate but it kinda freaks me out that he is all over EVERYTHING like that. Like, wtf is Ren's brain even made from because mine is about eighty percent custard and forgets how to breathe when it's confused. 😂 Hope you had a great trip and that today is being excellent to you. ❤

Animal Farm is the book you were thinking of, and he has the "rules" from the book written on the wall in the first room. There's so many cool moments in this video like the German Shepherd leading the Lamb down the stairs. The Wolf passing on the stairs when he talks about the Lamb's blood flowing. The Crow on the side when he speaks about being parasitic and "eating your flesh (yumyumyumyum)". The most obscure connection is probably the Poodles in the corner of the stairway when he says he "gets kinda sick when he's stressed", as Poodles are known to stress out quite easily. The pig butcher from Hi Ren and Sick Boi in the kitchen chopping meat when he mentions "murderous rhymes". The Ostrich in a wedding gown on a tricycle straight out of The Shining. The roar when the monkey/ape comes around the corner. There's so many intersting elements all mashed up with Animal Farm, Willy Wonka, Clockwork Orange, and The Purge. Like everything Ren does, it's a total work of art.
The original rules of Animal Farm are scrawled on the wall at the beginning of the MV, with the odd bloody handprint. In Orwell’s book those rules are gradually changed to fit with the betrayal of the other animals by the pigs

I'm 51 and Ren is one of, if the THE most multi-talented, accessible, widely appealing pop music artist to appear in my lifetime. Prince maybe, but even he wasn't up to Ren's standard lyrically.

Can you please do the Jenny/Screech/Violet trilogy? I would love to hear from an audio perspective. It's one take with lapel but I think some directional and overhead mixing to get ambient sounds but I've only done amateur audio work. It's a great story so it's worth you're time. Idk if you'll ever see this, but I didn't know that what you're doing (isolating tracks) was even a thing until today, and it's amazingly enhancing my appreciation of everything that goes into music production, especially when you're talking about someone like Ren who's doing all of this himself. I've only watched a few of your videos so far and already had some serious wow moments -- like that main beat he does with his voice in this video (heard stripped down right after that last deep "animal" at the end) is the same as one of the layers you isolate for a moment in The Hunger. Plus just the fact that you can hear those tiny details so you know when to isolate something and check it out, that's incredible to me. I love that I can be in my 40s and come across something like this that gives me that "little kid learning about the world" feeling. Mind blown today sir, you've got some serious talent and a new subscriber.

As I recall Ren mentioned during the livestream they took a descending tone set and then compressed the hell out of it
I spent a good hour with audacity trying to extract that 'yumyumyumyum' but I'm crap at it and trying to extract without being able to isolate the tracks is nigh impossible

You should do a reaction to dir en grey … any thing from uroboros, dum spiro spero, or phalaris. However, most of their songs are moving, emotionally embracing…and I don’t even understand their language so without knowing the meaning of the lyrics you can feel them. Like an opera of sorts . I love ren when I heard him for the first time I was definitely blown away with his raw emotion emanating through his music and voice . 😅

I am beginning to see and appreciate that you are to the production/sound design/uh...track layering? (hope you get what I am getting at lol) as Knox is to rhyme schemes, cadences and lyric breakdowns and their meanings/possible meanings/references kind of thing. (Not saying that is all you and he do, but in a basic overall general thing...wow, I can't think straight right now ha ha.)
EDIT: Forgot to mention that I love the Animal Flow meets Hard Rock/Metal at the end. That was killer!
I Believe the beatboxing part is influence taken from indian vocal bols. Very similar sounds that exist in that, which is basically indian beatboxing
