- The complete soundtrack of the game Soul Blazer, as composed by Yukihide Takekawa.
Soul Blazer is a dungeon crawler from the Golden Age of the Super Nintendo. Developed by Quintet and published by Enix, this game puts you in control of an Avatar serving a divine figure known as The Master. It is a very endearing game with a very unique feel to it, and if you appreciate this sort of game and you have the means to try it, I suggest you try it! It also has a great soundtrack.

Such an underrated video game!
It's basically hidden gem status 💎
6:24 the one that touches my heart, love it ❤️
Same!
RIP Turbo
It's a variation on the town development theme from ActRaiser, as is 16:14.
Yes, TheMcLay ❤️😊
Sounds like dragon quest.
One of my all time fav games, i replay it even more than ALTTP.
I was 7 when this came out and it was one of the first games, along with Final Fantasy IV, that really showed me how serious and artistic video games could be. It was one of the first that I was able to get through by myself as well and I still love it 25 years later! The music is so good.
I was also 7. It was the first game I ever actually beat, because I loved it so much. I still have my cartridge, though my SNES is LOOOONG gone.
I was 1, many years later i found the rom in my brother's computer, it was the first game i've finished. i'd love to own the cartridge even thou i don't own an Snes.
I still find myself sitting down and playing through it once in a while when I'm bored, amazingly it still hasn't got old even after all these years.
Came out when I was 6, just played it on my snes a few weeks ago which is why I'm pulling up the soundtrack on youtube lol. FF4 was a great game too.
Same this is my all time favorite SNES game . I'm looking for it so I can binge play it for a couple of days, and beat it again .
If anybody has any game soundtrack (song or full album) they can't get on here (or can't find as a full album) feel free to leave a comment and I'll see what I can do.
SimCity Cities of Future?
Why is the soundtrack so haunting? Especially the 6:23 one? Played it my childhood and could never forget it.
08:10 damn I love that bass line
amen bruh, was looking for someone to cover slapping his bass. Didn't find it :(
@@magicseahorse still waiting
Find it yet? @@Cyberfoxxy
was always a fav of mine too, it hits so good
the good old days of gaming ,when companies put real effort into making good games
Man this game was pretty deep, especially when I was a kid. They talk about death, sadness and loneliness and combined with the great soundtrack was haunting. Such a great game.
Then you play The Illusion of Gaia and realize the futility of life or rather, the futility of the future of mankind, grow depressed until you discovered you most loved one and strive to see them again. I'm too drunk for this, sorry.
In the third Game of the Series "Terranigma" the Story about life is wonderfull * _ *
"If a man kills one person, he is considered a murderer. If a man kills 100, he is considered a hero."
-Magridd
I remember this was my first game that I emulate ( my sister bring a CD with the emulator and some game, I was so amaze) ❤️
I agree! Great comment. I was so serious when I played this with my neighbour at 6 years old :)
One of my favorite SNES games of all time.
6:23 - This is the song I came here to hear. And it's just now hitting me that this sounds like it came straight out of Actraiser. Whoa.
Both games use the same instrument samples
I mean, funnily enough, they are part of the same "series". Actraiser, Soul Blazer, Illusion of Gaia, Terranigma, and Actraiser II are all connected. I don't remember the "timeline" of sorts, save that Soul Blazer comes directly before Illusion of Gaia, but it's been a while.
I don't know why but I never tire of this soundtrack, it is still a classic to this day. "Lonely Town" and "The Depths of the Sea of Saint Elle's" were always two of my favorite tracks, but then again the upbeat "Bewitching Space" is also excellent.
Must've been a decade since i last heard "Lonely town" but man i loved this song as a kid :)
I played this game all night to stay up for a brain scan at the Mayo clinic in Rochester Minnesota. I will never forget it! Listening to this soundtrack is so nastalgic. It was such a difficult time in my life when I was young, and this game was such a perfect parallel to my life. I took my life about six months later at 17 years old. I went into another dimesion within myself as my brain dies, experiencing a replicate universe within the brain, in time dialation. It is actually still the year 1994, but light still plays out it's quantum course. Soon my brain will cease being able to simulate this existence. I will then be reconnected with the original universe I came from. If somehow someone saves me as I lay there dead, then when I come back I will know of the entire future up till now.
Any new stock pics that could male me a lot of money, coming up?
One of my all time faves on the system. Such an overlooked, underrated gem! And the sound track is soooo good.
i miss how simple this game was and how you could talk to literally everything haha
One of the earliest greatest rpgs. Quintet and Enix did amazing work. This soundtrack stays with me to this day. I dedicate this post to a dear friend that I unfortunately haven't seen in years and he unfortunately passed away in his sleep and his roommate found him. I couldn't imagine come across that😢. RIP Draknar Everhate, Aaron Mayfield. Til next time. PS thanks for letting me borrow FF3, I didn't get to complete it but that will change; also wise decision not letting me borrow Chrono Trigger. That game is an absolute masterpiece!
God Damn I love this soundtrack haha. I remember being a kid and making my own drum parts for every song. Now I play a few of these songs in my band!
Ohhhh mannnnn... this was my game back in the day. Nobody around me knew about this game (before the internet took traction). @51:15 the first time i heard the track after completing the game, I immediately fell in love with it; and Lisa's image on the screen. It was simple but beautiful yet so sad and full of yearning. It's a master piece. XD
I feel the same way! I’ve made all my friends and even my wife play it. I remember being a kid and sitting down drawing maps and passing the controller back and forth with my brother, trying to find all the gems(?) to get infinite magic. It was so fun to not have online help back then. I still play every game the same way.
And that beauty and yearning you describe at the end. I felt that same way. I was almost sad more than happy that I had beat the game. Feel the same way each time I beat it to this day. The best games always make me feel that way. That’s how I know which games are my favorite
SNES is my record player! Soul Blazer, Brain Lord, Illusion of Gaia, Secret of Mana, Secret of Evermore, etc.
Zelda, EarthBound, Final Fantasy...best console ever, best music ever!!!
You should check out the overworld themes from The 7th Saga. It's really good.
Terranigma!
natraan lagoon ost was the best!
7th saga & actraiser
Castlevania IV
Leo's Laboratory. That song commanded attention whenever it played. I remember playing this and wife asking me to please try and get through that area as quickly as possible so it would stop.
The slap bass in this is too good.
Never knew there was a vocals track. Thanks for uploading these.
Oh man. Thanks for the upload.
No problem, glad you enjoyed :)
Man I loved this game, I remember I got it because not much else worth a look to me was coming out anytime soon and I ended up enjoying this so much it's in my top 10 SNES. The soundtrack made the game that much cooler to me, thanks for posting this. Brought back lots of memories
Damn, they must have brought in Flea for some of these bass lines... 21:38.
In all seriousness though, great game, great soundtrack, thanks for uploading!
LMAO seriously, a lot of the basslines in this sound like something Flea would play. But yeah the Lostside music DEFINITELY sounds like a typical Flea bassline. Takekawa must have been a Chili Peppers fan.
Just stopping by 9 years after this was uploaded to remind people this game and soundtrack are still awesome. 😎
I played it as a child a lot of times.
This music is so saved in my memorys
This precious world
i told my wife this soundtrack reminds me of her, now she won't stop dancing to it...
especially the mines theme
Incredible sound theses days...
Loved the game..
Played it directly after "mystic quest"...
The sound was very special and cool...
Hey, me too! Mystic Quest is the first videogame I ever beat, and Soul Blazer was the second! Kindred spirits, you and I.
i still have this game for my snes and this music takes me back. Thumbs up for memories.
11:23 My favourite :,) (from the game). I LOVE A Night without a Lover
I was expecting the intro song's drum beat to glitch in and out like my old copy would.
Childhood memories right there.
Can't remember how many times i've played this game. Some of the best music.
I skipped school to play this game and find all the secrets
Playing this game as a kid definately got me ready for WoW lol. The sheer joy of simply being able to interact with every creature around.
i never played this game before, but i love the soundtrack! it reminds me of castlevania 4's! which just so happens to be epic
I got super mario world and link to the past with my system but this game holds a piece of nostalgia as well. Amazing game that still holds up. I recommend playing it.
Such a cool game and soundtrack that I keep playing this while I'm working at home. Lol
6:15 was always my Favo one. I even just turned on the SNES in the old days. And just let the music play while doing homework or so Ahh. good old times.
Utterly sick drum fill at 31:16 after the buildup
I love this ost
36:03 sound like Mr Oizo !!!
I was in primary school around age 9
I had a copy of this game that was Japanese ( not sure exactly ) through sheer repetition I learned how to save and actually beat the game eventually .
So wish they would release this game in the eshop along with illusion of gaia. Crystalis for the NES would be fricken awesome to play again.
And the third Game of the Series : Terranigma
10/10 would play all of these games again.
The Soul Blazer trilogy on the Switch please!
I remember play testing this game so many years ago. The gameplay was great, but the soundtrack...couldn't rate it high enough!
thanks
Also, I will never forget beating the game and listening to the credit track. I went back about 20 years later and beat the game again in full this time. I never originally found the weapon hidden in the town, although I remember looking for it when I beat the game the first time, and I always felt like I never truly fullfilled my destiny in the game, lol.
I carry Into The Dream with me in my memories.
Grooviest soundtrack known to man.
Funkiest OST in the history of videogames.
Funky, quirky, rocky and so much more...
In my dreams I can fly.
This soundtrack is Disco as hell! Love it!
I never played this as kid but I wish I did I feel like it's one I missed out on as a kid. What a great soundtrack though!
One of the game i play a lot on rainy days back then
Oh My Childhood
I used to fall asleep with my snes on listening to 'into the dream' on loop back in the day. Now that I know the song name it is super fitting!
Kind of similar to the OST of Fire Emblem 4. Great games both :'D
+Luthea your right the soul blazer ost does have a fire emblem 4 ost vibe i agree ^_^
I haven't played this game since I was a kid. I loved that music, it was setting you up to undertake a great adventure. I'm going to play it again someday and relive the GLORY!
If you feel like playing it there's a really good and easy to use site called 'vimm' that has pretty much every SNES game as well as the emulator.
The emulator is really easy to use and if you have an Xbox or Playstation controller you just need to plug the charger into your computer and you can use it to play SNES games
@@skullkid325 Does it work on MacBook Air?
@@skullkid325 Alright I was able to figure it out. Thank you so much
@@tomasarana6695 No problem man, have a blast
i think this game was better then some of the games of today !
Ah, Soul Blazer - snes music you can have coitus to without ever missing a beat. Especially tracks 4 and 9, trust me on this...
And track 14!
51:09 Beatiful
8:10 This track is also known as Underground Castle on KH Insider.
This game had a good mix of instrumental music and funk.
Soul Blazer is such an awesome game!!!
Nice Sound Track
32:20 my faverite
Mine too.
and 3:07 the shrine sounds like dracula was a good guy lol
and 3:10 the shrine
One day someone’s going to mine the games from this era - this one included - and make some amazing hip-hop.
I l ove this music! ♥
One of my favorite games from my favorite videogame company. I'm sure you can see this is where I got the idea for codename here on CZcams!
Yo, someone seriously needs to take a look at Leo's Laboratory, because that song is absolutely cracked. Different time signatures, different keys, intense syncopation. It's so creative. So good.
21:38 this song actually sounds like it is meant for a soccer game
The "Linda H shot on iPhone Song" reminds me of some Songs from Soul Blazer. 😄
24:03 favorite song on this ost. 40:43 heard this about 3 kajillion times grinding
Peaceful Days is to be our Worldhymn when the Evil is Dead, erased and killed worldwide. ❤
40:43 Love this one! I remember watching my brother play this, while I was drawing my little. This track had inspired this evil character of mine, he was created in a black hole. ^_^
Ok no one is gonna talk about the bass huh?
Has anyone documented the main theme variation?? I dont know how to triger it but sometimes the into song begins slower and without the drums, it kind of builds up some additional epicness
Only 3K views? Am I the only one viewing it? I come here everyday ;)
***** Ya, this is one of those timeless games. Amazing soundtrack, play experience and story-telling :)
you still there bro ?
A Night Without a Lover always makes me feel so nostalgic. It's my favorite from the track.
Hidden Gem , both music and gameplay. Highly recommend
Never got to play this. Heard it's great. Never got to finish Illusion of Gaia either. Maybe one day. . .
One of the best games ever made, easily.
Okay, so when I used to play SoulBlazer back in the day, sometimes when I turned the game on and the gigantic logo was scrolling across the screen, the music sounded like it was skipping. The opening percussion tripped over itself. It didn't happen every time, just sometimes. There was nothing wrong with the cartridge, and that was the only glitch I ever experienced. Anybody know what might have caused this?
Mine does it too, lol. Maybe the code is *just barely* fast enough to run on the SNES or something. Maybe when it heats up a little, the SNES loses a CPU cycle or two and we get some skipping? I dunno. I wondered about it, too. X'D
This game is a part of the Actraiser series among a couple other games. The MC is basically another "angel" sent down by the Master to save humanity.
IMO this game's music is most similar to Chrono Trigger's, which came out later.
This is the shit man, better than cocaine
10 years looking for this song... ;-; 6:23
Just saw that CZcams marks the songs in the timebar, pretty neat! Now they should fix the copyright claim system. :)
(In the mean time... KOIBITOOOOOOOOOO...).
Here listening to this awesome soundtrack after the announcement of Actraiser being revived and hoping this game AND the sequels get brought back with it now that SE remember Enix had some amazing shit before the merger.
all pretty much good from what i remeber two decades ago, i liked 3:09 through and mostly 16:14 the 18:13 location switch and last but not least the battle theme for 29:32 best imo
I really like solitary island, its a fun track. I love the drum break when it loops. I'm gonna try to do a rock cover of it, even though nobody knows it.
I know it !
Have you done an ost for Paladins quest and 7th saga?
+Evamael i Love ! this games!
The Mines fuckin' thumps
I was about 11. I had soul blade ( I think it was called) non English version. Finished the damn thing by matching symbols inches text. Took ages just to learn how to save.
I still like this game but it cant be helped ... each time u swing your sword its sounds like Maggie Simpsons pacifier ... * thx for upload ^^ *
The Mines
I miss the SNES great music games. So nice.
Davie504 needs to notice this soundtrack. Good heavens the slap and funk in it.
The third one is so romantic
