  • Among the most accomplished and well known of the world’s deep-sea explorers, Dr. Robert Ballard is best known for his historic discovery of the R.M.S. Titanic, as well as his discoveries of hydrothermal vents, the German battleship Bismarck, and numerous other contemporary and ancient shipwrecks around the world. During his long career he has conducted more than 150 deepsea expeditions using the latest in exploration technology. In 2003, President George W. Bush presented him with the National Endowment for the Humanities Medal in the Oval Office of the White House. He is currently a National Geographic Explorer-in-Residence.
If you haven’t seen it already, we recommend arriving early and touring through our Titanic exhibit (the exhibit closes at 5:00 p.m. every day). As the event with Dr. Ballard is a free event, admission into the Reagan Library and Museum is not included and would need to be purchased at our front admissions desk upon arrival. Our 10,000 square foot exhibition is a fascinating look at Titanic, combining real artifacts with the real stories of the people onboard the ill-fated ship. This new exhibit tells the story of the unsinkable ship in a way no museum has done before. For more information on the exhibit, please see the Titanic Exhibit.

Opening Remarks by John Heubusch, Executive Director of the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation & Institute.

I always hope I will have chance to visit the library, especially before our moving. Otherwise it will be very far away. Often after long hours daily working and 7 days per week, very tired. Sometimes, try to get out of the stress, I will go enjoy anything for one day or two days just try hard to forget stress for a little bit. Small business is just never easy, at least we are lucky enough survived by our strong technology in this field. I guess We must take some time off to visit Reagan library. It is just such wonderful place to learn something new. I always love President Reagan and his families, also President Bush and his families for their great leadership to let us enjoy freedoms and the equality of the opportunity.
