Power box/boost bottle are few other names of what technically is a calculated resonator chamber i.e., it acts as buffer for the sound waves that were created during sudden closure of reed valve during each 2 stroke cycle. If not for the resonator chamber, the returning pulse of the sound wave that was created by the closure of the intake valve (reed) will collide with the pressure wave that is out from the carburetor before closure of the reeds and thereby create turbulence somewhere in the middle of carburetor and reed valve path which will essentially lead to power loss . It is the sound waves and not actual air-fuel mixture that enters the power box. Smaller capacity vehicle like RX100 does not need a resonator whereas RX135 will have one factory fitted because of the bigger carburetor venturi and larger intake port compared to RX100. Fitting resonator to RX100 or any 2 stroke motor that does not actually need one will not produce any noticeable difference in power output or drivability. The term "power" box is tempting people to believe that adding one to a smaller engine will produce more power, just a layman belief that is.
