I remember being in my late teens and early 20s when he peaked. When we watched Barcelona play, it was basically a question of Barcelona not getting a free kick anywhere within 25 meters of the goal, because chances were that Koeman would kick it in so hard if you tried to catch it, your kids would fall over! He is by far and away the BEST SET PIECE player I have ever seen!! Noone even comes close. Some of the distances in this video ... man!! 😳😳😳😳

Bien colocado y contundente cuando era necesario. Jugador con excelente visión de juego y capaz de dar un pase milimétrico de gol desde su posición de líbero. Pases cortos y largos de gran precisión adornan su calidad como mito futbolístico. Por si fuera poco, era un consumado especialista en los penaltis y en las faltas a balón parado, gracias a su sobresaliente precisión y potencia de disparo. Era un jugador muy temido cuando se sumaba al ataque, gracias a su capacidad goleadora, apoyada en sus fulminantes y terroríficos disparos de media y larga distancia, convirtiéndolo en el defensa más goleador de todos los tiempos con 253 goles. Nunca hubo, no hay y nunca habrá un defensa más goleador que Ronald Koeman.
Amen!! jaja era mi idolo de pequeño en mi Barça, todos se fijaban mas en Stoichkov o Laudrup pero el era la brujula desde atras para armar el equipo, por algo fue el primer gran fichaje que pidio Cruyff, para construir un equipo ganador desde atras. Y en Holanda era el capitan y lider de ese equipo ganador de la Eurocopa del 88, aunque se nombre mas al trio Rijkaard, Gullit, Van Basten como iconos. Le falto tal vez ser un defensa mas contundente en cruces, ya sabes que siempre se le achacaba falta de cintura, pero en linea generales era muy buen defensor, todo no se puede tener...ser ofensivamente el mejor de la historia y luego un megacrack defendiendo. Ademas, que poco se dice, tambien podia jugar de centrocampista defensivo u organizador (el tipico 4 tipo Guardiola)...como centrales historicos para mi gusto esta entre los gigantes, a la altura de Beckenbauer, Baresi, Maldini, R.Carlos, Cafú y luego ya los demas.
