    Nice video, it might be better if you use a trailer, that way you don't risk losing your balance due to the load, and you can also charge your bluetti while driving the bike. Thanks for sharing

    Cool video! It would also be interesting if you could manage a week long trip and be self contained solar power assisted. To help get enough power in the day to fully charge at night, perhaps have a solar panel outside/on top of your red bag. Also, long stops midday or when sun is out to charge. Would likely require a larger portable solar array. While I like the the use of the induction stove it really sucks the power. I have also seen people mount panels on top of bicycle trailers, so they can better collect energy while riding.

    • @MispronouncedAdventures
      @MispronouncedAdventures  Před rokem +4

      In the gland scheme of things the induction stove used hardly any of the energy compared to the e-bikes battery recharging.
      You could definitely do a few day long self contained trip. But you would probably need to stop for a days or half a day. Bike trailer could work as well

    Always set up the panels in the evening so that they're ready to start recharging your battery pack as soon as the sun decides to show up.
    And when breaking camp, don't stow the panel before you need to. You could have packed down the tent before folding the panels and stowing them on the bike. Sure, it's only a minute or two more charging time, but every little bit helps.
    Charging your bike battery from the portable power bank isn't very effective, though. Every step is only about 85% efficient.
    I'm looking at possibly making a micro camper to pull with my bicycle, and will place a solar panel on the roof. Then there will be a MPPT type charger that can charge a 36V Li-ion battery... Like the ones I'm using for my bike... So it will be charging one battery(slowly) while I'm actually out bicycling. I may even get a third battery...
    I have most of the electronics already. Just need to add a Step-down DC-DC converter for 12V, some LED lights and switches and such.
    In a slightly more realistic world, I would probably use solid fuel tablets for heating tea water(I have a large box of Coghlans, but Esbit also works. I carry a mini stove in my backpack in case of a tea emergencies when out hiking.), but I do have a 12V electric kettle, also. It just needs 20 minutes or more to heat the water... Who can wait that long?
    One of those mini stoves doesn't take more space than a large pack of cigs, and you can store several tablets, a few teabags and sugar in them.

    I have a Cyrusher, it's nice to have the throttle on to start from a stop on steep hills or with a heavy load. Fun bikes, it allows me to exercise with the assurance that I can throttle home if my body can't take it.

    • @MispronouncedAdventures
      @MispronouncedAdventures  Před 10 měsíci +2

      I have the throttle as well as it came with the bike, although I don’t necessarily have it on my bike or have it on videos due to the UK law surrounding in it. Because it makes pulling off on steep sections, far easier.
      I might make some modifications to my throttle, so it only works as a boost/ hill start opposed to a complete electric throttle. Which would hopefully prevent me getting in trouble if I was stopped with it on the bike as areas of the UK seem to be cracking down on this.

  • @fenflyer

    enjoyed watching,👍just subd 👌
    I have an Engwe I've put 1200 miles on my X26 in 8 weeks
    But I prefer long distance pedaling from the rear seat - beach cruiser style , works ok with a aftermarket 130mm handlebar headstock extension to give laid back riding position. pump rear shocks up around 120 -150 psi depending on terrain for extra damping.
    I like the Engwe cruise control when initiated holding up button 3 seconds, cruise also keeps it below 200 watts @ 9-10 mph in eco/ normal pedal assist mode 👍
    X26 Problems in 8 weeks hard riding =
    1. auxiliary cross bar battery rattle if not stopped leads to battery self-destructing - the terminals disintegrate. fix = wrap 50mm gorilla tape around front of battery to eliminate rattle. order new terminal block from Engwe!!
    2.Main seat post Battery drops when riding over rough terrain = leading to connection bottoming out on frame and battery connector self destructing because it passes the minimum height setting😬
    fix= order new battery connector from Engwe
    prevent battery bottoming by putting a stop bolt underneath the battery just above it minimum height setting 🤦
    3.standard 26x4 " fat tyre inner tubes are very prone to punctures ,had 4 punctures in 2 weeks 😬
    fix = installed heavy duty 6mm thick motorcycle inner tubes , so far NO more flats in 6-700 miles 🤞

    I think adding one more set of solar panels will do a great job. Also try to find a 12 v version of induction cooker, it will be so much power efficient.

    • @MispronouncedAdventures
      @MispronouncedAdventures  Před 10 měsíci +1

      Definitely, I was just using the panels I had available. they’ll be no reason I couldn’t use a second set panels of the same model if I had one. The mppt in those powerbank can deal with me.
      12 V isn’t particularly helpful on power banks as they’re not 12 V. They usually a variety from anywhere from 21v up to 48 V depending on the size of them and configuration. 12v induction hobs are not available, as there would be inefficiencies in this case because the induction coils for induction hobs are AC. a DC input would have to be converted over to AC

      Thanks ebikes can be great fun but are problematic, the battery can die on your without warning, and they are not waterproof. Meaning water can get into the electrics of the bike and kill it. Also ebike battery fires is an issues. Still they get up hills easily i just wish the batteries were lighter and the bike as well. I think that will come in time with further range and better batteries etc. i would cover your electric sockets on the bike with water proof tape and get a battery cover. Also when out in the country over night cover your bike with a rain cover in case it rains. ebikes do not work well with out the motor running and always carry a spare battery. Put the battery in fire proof bag as well as well. My ebike is dead as the battery is gone, i think the battery management is faulty and it put the battery into hibernation. Oh and make sure the battery the ebikes comes with can be replaced with a new one off the market as they do not last long - a few years at most. Also make sure the eibke you have has a good warranty from a good shop. Where i got mine from is not honouring the warranty, so i cannot used the bike and i cannot afford a new battery. A lot of money gone for rubbish. I need a ebike because i have a bad back, that the will never happen now.

      Use the 120v ac to a pair of 60v DC power supplies, toss in a smoothing capacitor and a 15 amp fuse on each lead, then hook those up to the relevant terminals on your ebike
      At 600 watts each, you should have no problem running the bike off of that. You might even notice less voltage sag at lower power since you're drawing from a much larger battery bank

    I had a cheaper E bike to start off with that was only 7 speed and had a massive chain ring up front like yours does.
    That also struggled slightly with really steep hills.
    Once I stuck the much smaller front chain ring on it fixed it a LOT
    Currently have an 11 speed one with a smallish front ring and you can honestly pedal up most hills without assist if you wanted to but when they are super steep i stick it on turbo and it NEVER struggles up any hill even with wait on and my lard ass weighing 115kg :)

      @@MispronouncedAdventures so smaller front sprocket means more ‘torque’ meaning you’ll spin ya legs faster for less distance covered but its what you use on hills.
      Bigger front sprocket will give more ‘speed’ meaning for every one full rotation of your legs you will get more turns of the back wheel making you go faster but harder work on the leg muscles.
      On the back cassette its reversed. Bigger sprocket on the back will give more torque and smaller on back will give more speed. You’ll notice in gear 7 your chain will be on the smallest sprocket on the back wheel.
      So to fix the problem with it being too hard to pedal up hills you either get a larger rear sprocket (more gears)
      OR
      Get a smaller front sprocket which is easier and cheaper just need to find one thats compatible.

    I find it amazing surely these manufacturers could have dynamos built in to charge batteries or power banks as you ride? Like those dynamo bike lights of yesteryear ........
    I get the feeling this would be better than solar here in the uk.
    I personally would buy a Honda cub, get 200 mpg and have no problem on hills and have the ability to charge batteries etc as you go.

    • @MispronouncedAdventures
      @MispronouncedAdventures  Před 9 měsíci

      Normal Bike dynamos don’t produce much power just a quick look on Amazon shows many models being 6W. Yeah enough to power, a LED light or slow charge a phone.
      But since you’re spending energy to create the movement, adding resistance with a dynamo does to create power in return is a waste of energy might as well just use the power from the battery. However, regenerative braking would be a far better idea where the motor itself acts as a generator which is pretty rare in E bikes some do you have it however.
      There is a big problem with your Honda cub in this instant, you couldn’t ride that Honda cub anywhere I’ve shown in videos without permission of the landowners as using any motorised vehicle off-road or on private roads, such as the ones shown are not allowed under the access laws without permission,, unlike the e-bike which don’t count as motorised vehicles, as long as they are within the UK spec.
