The Pro's still outweigh the negatives, i moss the speed when i was a beta tester, but having starlink since the very beginning, i literally have had maybe 10 hours of downtime in the last 2 and a half years......Aweso.e J.! 🕊️

Hi, I just came across your channel two days ago and it has been great listening or should i watching you. You are really doing a great job, I like it when you said you wanna talk about the positive side of starlink and not just the negative.
I have access to optimum cable internet, which is much faster, when it works. I got frustrated in January and purchased a Starlink system. It’s definitely slower, especially on upload speeds but the consistency is certainly worth the trade off for me.

I'm happy with Starlink. CenturyLink's fiber optic cable was put in about 450 feet from my house back in 2012, download and upload speeds are 7.5 mb/ 0.7 mb. The 450 foot cable from fiber optic to my house was installed in the 1970s, I wonder if that's the reason why it is so slow. Of course, the fiber optic cable is about 8 miles long before it gets here.

I have internet cable and I'm on a service plan that gives a discount for low income households. What the didn't tell us at first is that it also means slower speeds and if I run my microwave while watching TV the signal will timeout. They took out our cable box and replaced it with a Tivo box instead but still get slower internet speeds.

I am curious how he got that many satellites up into space? one rocket deployed hundreds at onc time? how do the stay in their orbit, do they use jet propulsion to stay in line and not run into each other? solar panels keep them alive but what about the jets?

Watched Pro’ N Con’s video on Starlink… Starlink not everything but it more then for us have not’s.. I Love Starlink for someone that doesn’t have the availability of fiber\cable or cellular internet service. Happy to say goodbye DSL and Hello Starlink. Thanks for the video.
Thanks for all your work! I installed my Gen 3 on Friday and I'm very pleased with the results. The way I look at it, Starlink is 40$ more than my 3Mbs DSL, but 35 to 70 times faster. My best speed, which I'm sure is an anomaly, was at 5AM Saturday with down at 345M, 21M up, 24ms ping. My only complaint is I get "No connection" on my PC for a couple of seconds, about once per hour. Annoying, yes, but still worlds better than my former ISP.

A second or two happen. Or even less. If there are too many even longer. There could be an issue.
@@jcristinaThat's all it has been, a second or two, doesn't even show up in SL statistics for outages of 0.1s+. I have a clear map with no obstructions. I think most of that time is my PC trying to recover from the disconnect.
@@jcristina Update: yesterday there was another SL update, the 3rd since Friday. Overnight from 9:30 PM to about 5:00AM there were several outages up to 5s reported as 'network problem' which states it was an issue between the satellites and the internet. So, I guess it's on SL's side.

Some of us live where there is no cellular, no broadband regardless of how much Obama promised, no fiber, and no cellular, not even DSL.
Starlink works great for me and it’s the only option.
Temporary set up takes five minutes. I have even laid my dishy on his side and he never lost connection.

@jcristina my 500/950mbps down has a ping of 26ms. I am 100m from the cabinet. The installer cut himself and blood got on the fibre. He explained it off. But I have never believed him. Would you agree that ,100m from the cabinet would give a lower ping. Ie...without the blood
Useless the service itself is “slow” latency.

I just ran a speed test while viewing this video on Oockla. It is currently snowing and I am getting ping 29ms idle 32ms down and 25ms up. 232 Mbps down and 37 Mbps up.

Those speeds are poor and the latency is terrible especially considering what you will be paying for it. In a developed nation you should be expecting to pay half the price of Starlink for 1ms of latency, 1000 Mbps download speed and 100 Mbps upload speed with a fiber internet connection.
