I don't think Cindy and Bob were together at the time of his death. He called to see his young child and you believe she's at the level of a Wife :). Actually, the woman who was the love of his life was the daughter of (at that time) Gabon's President. They met in the US (when she was studying) and they remained together until his death. His mother was also very close to her. I forgot her name as she give no interviews. Perhaps someone will mention it in the comments.

Bob had several other concubines other than Cindy. If he was so in love with her he would have divorced Rita and made her the main, He would not have cheated with the multitude of other women that he did after knowing Cindy. Remember that their whirlwind romance only happened for about four years. 3 of those he spent tryingto get her attention and a chance (listen to I dont want to wait in vain) but of course because of the child they kept in touch and kept in connection yes he has something a little bit extra for that particular concubine over all the others but not enough to make her wife and replace Rita cause Rita is irreplaceable. Like I said before, all she has is a child and memories but Rita holds the legacy. Damien would have been famous without being a Marley because he’s really and actually talented. Maybe not on the level of success that he has now but I believe without being a Marley he would have still been in the business and doing his thing

Cindy was in the movie. When he went to London, there was a white woman in the background while he was on the phone with Rita. His children did not leave her out. They just did not make her place prominent in the movie. That was all she deserved. The movie was about his music and not his women. Who cares about her feelings. At the end of the day, she decided to have an affair with a married man. She deserves no recognition.
How did Cindy contribute to Bob’s Marley career growth during and after his death? The movie showed Bob’s musical evolution and Rita played a major role in that. Cindy is part of his personal life. If they had mentioned her, they would have to mention alllll the other children’s mothers as well. Let’s focus on the essence of the movie.

Exactly good point. I have always considered myself a Bob Marley fan but I became a bigger Bob Marley fan after this movie. I didn't know much about his life at all and even I understood while watching it that it was not a biopic film as a lot of people tried to make it seem. It was focusing on his time during those couple of years of the late 70's of trying to bring peace between the two political parties and Jamaica like you said. I think this movie is misunderstood by a lot of people. It wasn't the time or place to go all into his personal life and all that. For that, people need to go watch a documentary or help fund a series on his life. This movie wasn't gonna be it

The part about the funeral is ridiculous. I don't care if Bob loved Cindy. There was no need for her to sit in the front with his wife. I realize more and more in this world, everything goes.

Growing up in my island home (not JA), I was well aware of the musical legacy of Bob Marley and clearly remember at the age of 5yrs hearing of his death. So like many, I couldn't wait to see the movie after seeing all the publicity. As a mother and divorced woman, the movie and You Tube stories intrigued me to learn more about Rita and her story. I saw the movie Friday 16th and purchased her book the next evening. I just finished the book and I all I can say is WOW - the heart and love of a woman ❤! Rita Marley is a phenomenal woman - A true Queen! God Bless her and shield her from all evil and negativity! And as Bob would say “who Jah bless, no men curse”!
Cindy was dating a guy who was part of the Little Anthony and the Imperials group but when she found out that he was only an employee and not a member of the group itself she just dropped him.
Yes, Bob had bought the house on Old Hope Road where she rented a small apartment from Chris Blackwell. Some people say she was dating Blackwell but I don't know if it's true. And Bob starting to pursue her but she was not interested in him until she found out that he was famous. But Bob was also dating her friends while he was seeing her, even 2 of them who were sisters.

He depended on her. She was his first love. He had women and children when he was with Cindy just like he did with Rita. What women failed to understand like most women do when they get involved with a married man is the chances of him leaving his wife and children to be with her rarely ever happens. I have known women to give up their lives for a married man, have 2 or 3 children for him; women were very beautiful educated and everything; but they never left their wives and children When the wife died, they still did not marry the mistress. I feel the movie was his kids from Rita’s way to honor their famous parents and they chose to highlight their love story. It’s a perspective of Rita and Bob. Bob Marley was a great musician. Not so great a husband or father. He showed little respect or regard for Rita while he was alive. He didnt live with Rita and spent very little time with her and their children. No diss to Rita but fact is most of his time was spent with Cindi and other women. Indeed, it's been said over & over the Bob loved Cindy very much. Yet, at the height of their Romance, he didn't, and never at any other time, did he ever ask Rita for a divorce so that he could marry Cindy. After the heat wore off, they remained good friends and Bob went on to have more Romantic heights with different women and make more babies. A lot of musicians have a muse who move them to write great songs, but it doesn't always end up in a happy ever after. Rita & Bob's relationship was deep, spiritual and complex. Both Bob & Rita cheated on each other & had children outside the marriage. Yet, whatever DEEP Bond they shared never led to them wanting to divorce each other. On the contrary, Bob implicitly trusted Rita so much, so deeply, to even raise some of his children that he made with other women. Life is complex. It's not a simple Black & White. Whatever it is/was that they shared, had enough depth for them not to end up in the divorce courts.
Some women accept this type of behavior this is why it still goes on so much. Ladies love your self enough to move on.
