Every Colorado Real Estate Law Being Proposed In 2024 | Actually Important

- Colorado real estate laws are changing and many of the proposed laws will have unintended consequences for the people these laws were supposed to benefit. If a landlord faces increased expenses, they will raise rents. If they can't get rid of a bad tenant, they are going to be far more selective about who they allow to rent their homes. If anything, this slants the table in favor of large, corporate landlords.
Some of these laws are needed and helpful, however when the government solves one problem they usually create 3 more.

I will also add that if I had to live in Colorado, it would be in the Springs it's the last conservative foothold...the rest of the Front Range has gone looney tunes..
Surprised to see there were no bills for crimes against squatters, kind of like in Florida where they made it a crime for people to squat in homes.
I think CO has a better protection against squatters than most states. Have you seen a recent news story about squatting in Colorado? I think itâs an important topic.
In Calirado?
Dude, Colorado was lost 15 years ago...everyone knows it, we have so many ex Coloradoans down here in Phoenix, now they might spend a couple of months in the Summer but the balance is here in the land of the free. My advice is to watch out for relocating Californians they will be the problem to watch.
Ahh, living in Colorado... each day's better than the next.
These are just the housing laws. They just passed a bill that strips away transparency in their meetings. Pretty alarming that they donât want us to know what theyâre discussing in official meetings.
@@homesofcoloradosprings2114 Trust me, I know. I'm a native. The legislature is out of control. If the citizens don't pass something the legislature wants, they simply pass it themselves in the next session.
It seems like we're stuck in this BS Landlord vs Tenant battle where its one over the other! It's the LANDLORDS Property and they shouldn't have to PAY a dime to ANYONE, just maintain the property and give 60 day notice of lease not being renewed and 15 days notice, if rent is late/not paid, for the person to either pay, negotiate, etc.
A balanced system that works for everyone is best. Laws favoring one side or the other is problematic
Iâd vote for you.
