The best and worst thing of the "sacrificing people to make Astarion the Ultimate Lifeform" part is not that it doesn't improve him mechanically that much. It's that it is ironically the absolute WORST thing you can allow him to do to himself lorewise. 🤣

@@Mare_Man Well, not that you can do it in the game, but I assumed that that would not be an issue since my op mind flayer wizard character could easily dominate the uber-Astarion. I mean, you can literally do it by dominating the elder brain but I was actually scared of the idea of keeping something much, much more powerful than myself under a domination effect so I went with killing him instead. My plans are unfortunately outside the scope of the game but I can say with relative certainty that dominating Astarion would be an extremely easy job with the crown or worst case scenario, it is a near future job considering my Illithid intellect and knowledge as a wizard.
The lady demanding the "thug shaker" is Asuka from Neon Genesis Evangelion. She is demanding Shinji and his cheeks to "shake it". I'd post the link to it but i am not certain if youtube will allow it.
The one with the loud dude yelling about the creatures (they are not animals, trust me) from the hit movie Madagascar, is from a Family Guy side gag about a man watching Madagascar while driving in his car and how happy he is about it. That is, of course, before he immediately sends him and his car off of a cliff, where he dies horribly.

Volo is the only moment in game I used my knowledge from D&D to metagame.
The book named after him for 5e has a small disclaimer saying that if your DM ever put this MF in your game, he is trying to kill you and to never talk, listen or follow anything Volo says (and that Elminsters isn't much more trustworthy but the last time they said that they were turned into Flumphs.).
The book is also covered of notes of Volo talking stuff about monsters, and althought you can trust some (Like "Trying to talk to a gnoll is the quick way to their stomach") some are either incorrect, distorted or badly explained, or straight up stupid ideas, like Volo wondering how would a Illithid brain taste, which Elminster follows by saying that hes a fool, and that they're venonous.
He also encourages you to bother a Hag, because its the best way to get her to tell you the truth. Sure, Volo. Sure.

Permanent see invisibility from volo is great. I don't mind him honestly he is a writer and a weird damsel in distress for generations of adventurers on the sword coast

I already have 5 or so characters going on in BG3 and the only reason I don't have more is save file limitations. I have finished exactly zero campaigns so far, but I have gotten three into Act 3. I simply could not resist the temptation of experimenting with other classes and character types, because the effects and playstyles the various spells and abilities provide are so incredible.
The problem with killing Volo is that _Elminster_ is _very_ fond of him, and as such, killing Volo will almost certainly put you on Elminster's "shit list" immediately, and Elminster is arguably _the_ most overpowered being in the entire Forgotten Realms setting. Screwing with Elminster is something that would be incredibly...."unwise" to put it lightly, because he _will_ make you answer for it.
And his buddy Khelben Blackstaff Aronson.

Bruh in my first playthrough, that Gnome guy you save like three times or something just disappeared from the game and I didn’t notice as I was playing blind and by the time I figured out he was supposed to show up again I had already freed the Gondians.
Turns out there’s a bug where he won’t go to your camp if you talk to him yourself and I didn’t realize it was a bug way back in act 1 :(
Replacing almost all the dialogue with dril tweets was a big brain move.

I still don't consider Raphael a villain; he bothered me twice, let slip that he had stuff I wanted, so I broke into his house stole his stuff and killed him. And those were the "good" options.
There's a Minthara companion mod that allows you to get her in act 2 without having to attack the Emerald Grove.
you don't even need a mod for that anymore, just kock her out while she is "temporarily hostile" and she will show up at moonrise. do note that if you steal all her clothes while she is unconscious she will show up naked.

I have to say when I watched maxors Baldurs Gate Video the first time I was not that impressed but now I am very addicted I watched this video today at least 7 times
I saved Volo because I'm a big defendant of public and free healthcare.
5:15, as much as that would be appealing, my mans must be robbing some other man every time i go to sleep cause every day he restocks my inventory with new stuff for astarion to steal. free food, free weapons, free magic and free money. i think he deserves life after mock running away yelling thief only to sulk back because he knows others will murk him lol.
Is there mods that streamline the combat? The game interests me so much but I cant stand to sit through turn based combat with like 16 fukn npcs taking ages to take their turns
