Until the past year or so we really enjoyed our TR here in Springfield, but the quality of the food has went downhill in my opinion. There are those who will argue this point and that is their right, but I've give the local restaurant several opportunities to win me back over but they've failed. I've had 4 bad slabs of ribs in a row and the past several ribeye's I've gotten had a good deal of non-chewable gristle in them. The quality of their steaks used to be much better with very little waste. However, the service is always great without fail.

This was always my dad's favorite place. He was a big fan of the Prime Rib. Sometimes it got a bit noisy for his liking, but at 89 and relying on hearing aids, its to be expected. I do independent IT contracting and typically will avoid working in restaurants because many kitchens are really gross. I took an assignment at my local Texas Roadhouse, and I can attest to you all that I've never seen a cleaner kitchen. I was so relieved because I didn't want to have to give dad a bad report. We last visited in early January 2024 for my folks 70th anniversary. We had a wonderful time and it is easy to see that the employees are ACTUALLY happy to work there. No fake smiles! A few days after that visit, dad entered the hospital and passed away about 10 days later. While TR was not his last meal, it was his last great meal and I thank the folks at our store in Joplin, MO for making it that! Thank you!

I suppose it depends on the restaurant. I haven't been to any of the local ones for at least 5 years just because of the music, maybe I'll check one out again.

@@blandrooker6541 Where we are in Boardman Ohio, they turned it down about 6 months ago and haven't turned it back up.
I make sure I compliment the manager everytime I go for the music being turned down. Maybe its nationwide as I'm sure they get complaints.
You might want to call ahead and ask them if they still play the music loud to save you a trip.

Took my wife toTR in Alliance tonight for her birthday. Asked to sit on the upper level. Was told ... no servers there. I don't care. Five min later they're packing people on the upper level around us. No pnuts...ask for em. No crackers with chili...ask for em. Steak was like filet of shoe. I'm surprised there was soap and running water in the restroom. Big change from several years ago not to mention the higher prices and lower quality food. This was my farewell dinner.

Some Texas Roadhouse are different from each other. Been to one close to home and it wasn’t cooked right, and salty. But it just opened. They are better now. Went to one up north, damn was it good! I go here over any other steak house.

I'm going to call this randomly at the 6:49 mark, even though it started a bit sooner: Texas Roadhouse did NOT "invent" the peanut-basket-shells-on-floor thing. I very clearly recall a similar thing back in the '60s at a restaurant I couldn't begin to name, now. This was LA area back when I was barely a tween. Maybe there were far fewer people with peanut allergies back then, or maybe those with such allergy had more decorum than to enter such a place and make a stink about it. Regardless, America was less "Suit-Happy" than it is now, at that time. People now sue for the slightest of things they "feel" threatened by. I "feel" threatened by "Lawsuit-Happy" morons who make my life miserable just because I enjoy some things they can't. Can I Sue them?

I've only tried them once. Spent nearly $200 on a family takeout dinner and was disheartened by the thin seasoning and sparse servings. Maybe I need to try a different location, but the one I went to was flooded with customers, so I presumed it was going to be better than Famous Dave's. 😢

I LOVE Texas Roadhouse.. if I don’t order steak. Chicken fried steak? I will eat that. Their steaks are not worth eating. Dry, chewy, flavorless and almost always overcooked even when I order rare. I want medium rare.. but NO!! Always without red meat in the middle. If I was stoned like Willie Nelson, I’m sure I would love Texas Roadhouse a lot too. But…I don’t get stoned… or eat at Texas Roadhouse.

Texas Roadhouse smokes its prime rib! It’s terrible! They don’t offer it any other way! What a loss for them.
My guess is their prime rib is not of good quality and covers by smoking it. My piece was 50% stringy fat! Asked, WTF, and was told that’s the way it comes! Also, these places are so noisy that you can barely have a conversation at your OWN TABLE! I say, save your money and splurge on a finer restaurant!

Think they should update their pay per hour as Tip culture is almost non existent... Frankly they should be ashamed to pay so little and make everything based on pooled tips... This is one of those Shitty banes of the corporate world that needs to end... Otherwise it will lead to the companies demise eventually..
