The Deele is one of many groups that didn't "make it" but someone goes off and becomes a Superstar. Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds was to The Deele, what Linda Rondstadt was to to The Stone Ponys, Olivia Newton-John was to Toomorrow (A UK Version of The Monkees) and what Elton John was to Bluesology. A burgeoning Star in the making.
Iâm crying right now. This song takes me back to my home of Cali. Memories of beautiful times with my family and relatives there were so unforgettable back in 87â. And this song was everywhere. When ever it plays, I would automatically think of them and miss them so much.

Darnell "Dee" Bristol comes in first with the "crazy" hair followed by Babyface, then Carlos "Satin" Greene with the hat. L.A. Reid is on the drums and Kevin "Kayo" Roberson is also in there playing what looks like the double bass.
Shoot 'Em Up Movies was their follow up to this particular track and was on the same album 'Eyes Of A Stranger', which I also went mad about when it was released, but it is very different to Two Occasions - well' the video to it is.
Worth a listen though. I love it!

Another one of the best of the best!!! So proud to be apart of this era, the best era!!
Members include: LA Reid, Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds, Darnell Bristol, Kevin Roberson, Carl Greene, and Stanley Burke.
Albums: Street Beat 1983, Material Thangz 1985, Eyes of a Stranger 1987, and Invitation to love 1992 which were all on the Solar label. The last albums was sans La and Face as they were doing other production work at that time.
If you want to hear Babyface about 8 years before he went solo, listen to Manchild's "One tender moment." "Two Occasions" though is my all-time favorite but to do it justice you have to listen to it on a stereo and hear the bassline in the song. You haven't really heard the song yet listening over a phone.
For another obscure one that is definitely worth it and an early Babyface production, try Cat Miller's "Fool in love". It's much like Karyn White's "Superman" but more gut wrenching and not one that everyone knows!
Did you ever encounter a group named After 7? If you do, it includes two of Babyface's brothers and they were signed to Virgin records in 1988 sight unseen. They must be heard to be believed.

When I used to sing this song around my younger sister, she thought I was making it up (because the concept and chorus is so unique {and a bit silly}. Who would think to write a song about falling in love at the movies LOL). The song was (and still is) unlike anything I'd ever heard before; back when r&b was about storytelling.
