4 sovereigns over a 1 ounce Britannia any day of the week 🙆♂️🙆♂️.
Thanks for your thoughts 👌.
😁
No, there is more gold in 1 oz Britannia
👍🏻👍🏻@@ellerellerek52
I prefer Britannias over sons because of the security features and the colour
Yes it's a fair point, many in the same boat
Definitely why would anyone try and make a fake Britannia when its got so many security features when they could fake a sovereign so much easier
I’m torn… I like all gold. Great video!
You and me both!
I think its good to stack 10th Britannia's. The security features on a 10th would be that much harder to fake. Also they might only be worth £220 today but in the feature they might be worth £1000? (and 1oz coins £10,000) £1000 would be a decent amount to sell, £10,000 might be harder to sell
I agree that in the UK 🇬🇧 Sovereigns make good sense being low premium and tax exempt.
Cheers 🍾🍾 SS.
Who doesn't like nice gold 1 Oz coins though right 😁
@@SovereignSaurus for sure 👍
Britannia's are tax exempt so that not a consideration. I will hold my Britannia's forever or until I have a personal or national financial disaster. If they don't happen I will pass them on to my kids
Great video, buddy. Thanks for sharing
You bet
Another brilliant video, first class advice which I have followed for last 3 years and now have a good stack of full sovereigns and gold britannias😊😊
Wow fantastic. I bet that's looking after you well
@@SovereignSaurus👍🏻👍🏻😊
I like the sovereigns because they are 22k I like to hold my gold. I have to buy pure gold here so they get scratched when I hold them but I still want to hold them. Even pamps I just take them out of the assay. I wish it was 22k so I could feel better about holding the gold and stacking it in piles.
It's a beautiful thing to hold
I have a couple 24k coins(Britannia,Weiners) I keep in an quarter oz eagle tube with all my assorted other 22mm 22k coins (mostly sovereigns, eagles, krugs), they seem to have held up pretty well although I haven’t put them under magnification
I’m not jostling them around too much but yeah, I love being able to hold them.
All my other 24k coins/bars are in flips or assay though, I don’t have to fondle every piece of gold I have as long as I have some to play with.
I know gold buffalos are sturdier than most other 24k, they’ve been annealed or tempered or whatever the term is for making 24k more resistant to damage, shame other mints don’t bother with it
That’s quite the stack of Sovs
Just a few of the shields but you might like this video with a few more 👍🏼

No sales tax on any billion in my state, but after a certain amount, reporting on sales is sent to the IRS unless it’s a few rare options. However the premiums on AGE’s or Gold Buffalos just feel like a tax. So I stick to our $5 commemoratives. Low premiums and also 22 Karat. Britannias are much cheaper premium option for us here. Great info and love the sovereigns! -PiFS 🐀
Thanks for sharing, as much as I love a buffalo there's a limit to what feels worth it yes
I would really like to get another 1/4 oz Gold Britannia .
Maybe I could barter with my local coin guy.
Trade some Australian raw gold nuggets for a Britannia.
Maybe yes, you can always ask
My stack is bullion 1oz Britannias and sovereigns and my collection is bullion amd proof alternate designs full sovereigns, the odd double sovereign and 1/4 oz britannias
I like that 👍🏼
My personal preference is I collect 'Ounce Britannia's', I have a couple of Sovereign's but I save for ounces. That's just me.
I buy 10ths for various reasons but I also have 1/4s which I think are my favorite size
Cheers 🥃
🙌🏽
I stack natural nuggets i find and stack silver coins perth mint, only gold coin i own is the new Australian Sovereign had to have one lol.
Cool that sounds interesting 👍🏼
I think we got someone spamming in the comments section @sovereign Saurus.
Thanks they get on about every video and CZcams doesn't seem to have got very good at filtering it all yet so just takes some manual removal 😁
We love the Sovs...period. 😂
🔥
I agree, Darth🙆♂️
awsome gold stack 😍 I want to start buying franktional britanias to get me upto a full 1oz, I just love sovereighns at the minit I carnt buy anything else right now, do you collect proof sovereighns what's you thoughts on these?
Fantastic good luck! I like to look at proofs but overall I stick mostly to bullion. There's a few proofs that I've bought on past videos including the 1989 4 coin set and some of the more recent special design sovereigns. Just feel like there is more risk with proof coins due to the premium to buy them
I think if you buy proof coins you are straying into coin collecting and paying a premium for something that's shinny rather than buying gold bullion coins. It won't be sure in the future you will get that premium back and trying to get a premium will make it harder to sell
What size capsule is that for the 1/10oz Britannia?
16.50mm
Thanks Martin
I buy anything that is 24k and on sale.
Nice rule
In other words we're screwed ether way
Do your next vid in the Central part of your town next time.
Could go a few ways 🤣
Because they're two grand a pop !
🤣
Do u have AG too?
Not much.... Too expensive
So why do we have to pay 20% tax on a silver Britannia when it also has a face value and is deemed currency??
Hi MDS, Ask HMRC but broadly speaking that is VAT which is a tax on purchases vs CGT (Capital Gains Tax) which is liable on profits from disposal of an asset
👍🏻
@@MadDogSurvival Also, if you buy second hand silver you do not pay the tax and there are online stores that will sell you second hand. You can also buy silver though a company with a vault based in Switzerland, Singapore or Southern Ireland (for example) and so long as you do not withdraw the silver out of that jurisdiction you will not pay the tax, nor when you sell it back to them. So don't let the 20% tax stop you holding silver if you want to diversify.
Thanks! Yes I do hold silver already. I agree with your comments other than the part about vaulting, I believe that the moto of if you don’t hold it you don’t own it is important with any precious metal stacking. I appreciate you taking the time to respond good of you 👍🏻👍🏻😎 best wishes
Brits for me, I prefer holding .999
It's nice hey
It's easier to count your gold stack when it's in one ounces. Hah, there you go. I put four quarters in a flip, or five tenths, store the halves with the one ounces. Easier to count. Well with Perth Mint anyway, which is the bulk of my gold.
Haha it's when you start weighing in buckets instead of counting 😁
@@SovereignSaurus Ahh yes. Did you see the Chards interview by Cobra, where Chard was talking about having buckets of sovs in the early days of the shop.
I prefer the 1oz Brittania's, Just an example, today 05/07/24, Tavex buy back for 1 Britannia loses you £67.50, Sovs loses you £21.58 Ea, so x four is £86.32 and still less total gold. 1/4oz and 1/10th oz Britannia's though on Tavex are much higher risk, losing £47.30 ea for the 1/4 and a whopping £25.43ea so £254.30 over the Ounce. 1oz Brittania's all the way for me. Or 22ckt jewelery from Malaysia
Yes the maths makes sense for 1 Oz. Like you say too the smaller Brits are typically far worse spreads
Does Tavex buy back the Britannias in “mint” condition or can they be played with like the bullion sovereign?
@@jamiefrost2091 As far as I know they pay a fixed price for coins of equal weight.
Thank you 👍
I like sovereigns more than britannias
They say actions speak louder than words and judging by my stack....
What’s ur stacking method
What I like about sovereigns is that they were once actually used as legal tender where as Britannia's never have been. Still the Britannia's security features make it win easily for for me
I will not buy a coin with Charles on it.
Fair enough there are plenty of options at least 👍🏼
@@SovereignSaurus🤣🤣
I went for a quarter chazza just to get something different
@des_smith7658 I had one, I traded it for an Australian War in the Pacific.
charles is amazing
