Simon already had two TDF Stage wins in 2019. So it just makes sense that he doesn't battle Adam for his first TDF Stage win. The Yellow jersey is simply a bonus. Stage 1 was win win for the twins ❤

My son was a top junior road racer & Velodrome racer a decade ago. 2 juniors he raced against are on the USA cycling squad.
It's mind blowing how much effort these guys put into their endeavors, in an underappreciated sport.

Poor Enric Mas and Richard Carapaz. How extremely difficult is the race, that we, normal cyclists just can't understand! I hope Enric can find comfort and solace! My heart goes out to him preparing for the race and then having to drop out. 🥺 Prayers for him.
Richard carapaz was my guess for podium with Jonas and Tadej. I pray him a speedy recovery on his knee!! 🙏🏻🤗🫶🏻

Brilliant win for Adam and a well executed break by both brothers. I'm sure my local cycling club for which they both rode (Bury Clarion) is very proud of them both.
Nice stage today. Both Pogacar and Vingegaard and their teams showed that they were where they should be. A climb suited for Pogacar, but Vingegaard kept up with him without even standing up in his pedals. It's going to be interesting to see if that changes.
No. Pogacar got 4 sec. And he will get more bonus sec b c daily he will try for them, and has fine sprint.

If it was poor tactics from anyone, it was from UAE, because the wrong rider won.
