  • I know that many of you might not be open to hearing this and I totally understand but I have had enough folks ask me in the comments section about my belief in God and so on. I'll just shoot this out there for your to review if you'd like. If it's something you don't want to view, totally fine! Here you go!

Ohh boy... that's really something different, lol.
I love how open you are about your beliefs. I think I believe in God myself. Yeah, I know it's weird to "think I believe" but that's the best way to describe it. I mean... I do believe in God, but sometimes I do things that makes me ask myself if this or that would happen if I really believed. That's why I'm not sure. I don't even remember the last time I was in church to be honest... but I'm working on becoming a better man since I met you and I'm thinking about going to church soon.
Thank you so much for what you're doing bud. I'm gonna repeat that till my last day... You, my friend, are a blessing to this world. Love ya bro!

Great sharing of the gospel, as it was first promised from God in the very beginning. You mentioned mercy as something we get that we don’t deserve, and you touched on it a little, but I also see it as NOT getting what we DO deserve.

I can’t describe how much courage you have to proudly put what you believe out to the public, knowing not everyone will agree with you. As a fellow Christian, a lot of the parts of the video really meant a lot to me. And how you extended an invitation to those who didn’t know Christ and wanted to was so sweet. I also love the prayer you did at the end. You’re a great guy Chris. Keep up the great work, and God bless you!

@@larryshair Thank you I shall try. I am sorting stuff that my recently deceased significant other (August 21 she went home to God) had collected over the last 20 years it's an emotional rollercoaster ride depending on what I find in each box or folder ECT. Would you say that ALL MUSIC without exception brings glory to God? I say yes as human beings are created by God and The eternal soul or life force of each of us is a small bit of or a spark of God and that to the best of our knowledge we (human beings) are the only being that create Music and while early music probably was just an imitation of the things heard in the natural world but was structured into a form containing rhythms, tempo, pitch ECT. And quickly became the center of all social events, became a way of passing on the history ( love that word... His story history) and tradition of the culture.... So I say all music brings glory to God.... Have you done a reaction to Disturbed song Hold on to memory's yet? I could feel your humility come through every reaction, short and this wonderful testament. We are so underserving of HIS sacrifice and love, yet he bestows it upon us. We question HIM when bad things happen and yet we forget to praise him for being blessed with another sunrise and sunset. I’ve been devastated over the past year, both personally and for someone else I adore and I would question WHY? I have taken a step back and now understand trials were put in place to challenge us to trust HIM and to understand things are removed to protect us and when something is for us HE will guide you to it.
More people would gravitate back to HIM if they gave up their greed and doubt.
GOD BLESS CHRIS. This was touching.

Hallelujah! Praise God for that Gospel message. I've known for quite a while that you're a Believer because you've talked about it in some of your Home Free reactions, (yes, I'm one of those people who only come for Home Free. Sorry). Strangely enough, even before I first heard you say anything about your faith, I felt that connection. I believe that's a testament to your faithfulness.
Thank you for your bold yet humble testimony. And I'm praying for you here in Ohio, (especially since you don't like country music. That's a sure sign of a reprobate. Just kidding, obviously.)

I've enjoyed many of your reactions, and I admire you for your empathy for your fellow human. I'm an atheist, and hold many of the same moral values and empathy, although I arrive at those values via a path based on community good and what makes all of us better as a whole. I don't know what you were concerned with offending anyone in this video. There's nothing to be offended by unless it's hidden in the story in a way I'm not smart enough to realize 😊.
Thanks for the message, and I'm glad to have found many fellow people who want to make our communities as wholesome and supportive as possible. Where you confess sin and ask for forgiveness, I reflect on where I haven't been kind or empathetic or patient or supportive, and allow myself the opportunity to do better in the future. I think both paths arrive at the same outcome.
Cheers and thank you for sharing!

@@rayjayedI don't know about that 😂. My dad believes in God and our family is Catholic in the sense that we went to Catholic school, but my dad agrees the church is corrupt and a scam. Like our monsignor stole from the church and they wanted the parish to help pay his debts for condos in Hawaii and his Lexus. On top of the money already given to them.
But he still believes in God and I am an atheist. He says religion is morality, "without religion people have no rules". If you are only a "good christian" to pat yourself on the back in public so you can "get to heaven " then you aren't a good person to begin with. My rowing coach in HS would say "integrity is doing the right thing even when no one is looking". Or rather ESPECIALLY when you think no one is looking.
I've nearly died in one thing after another. Like being thrown from a car that flipped on the highway. Just had a pulmonary embolism with pneumonia on top (clots blocking your lungs) for the second time in 3 years and I'm only in my 30s. I've coded, ODed, etc and been in a coma for a week. Every time is exactly the same... Drift off, wake up. Like anesthesia when they say "count back from 100' and next thing you are waking up hours later and they are saying it's over. Like a pause button for nothing.

For a long time i was a pretty aggressive atheist. I was strongly against religions because of how they can negatively affect you, manipulate, etc. Especially being raised in a really religious family i grew to hate its methods and beliefs. But Kendrick lamar made me understand WHY people believe and what it can bring into your life. He made me appreciate the religuois messages and even sing along to them! I would *never* have thought i would quote Deuteronomy 28:28 and actually feel it! In one of his albums he showed a really great story of how the pain of loss and despair made him and his people turn to religion and i *felt* it.
I am not a Christian and will never be but Kendrick (and YOU, Larry. Actually i am pretty grateful for your wisdom) helped me mature and respect those whose lives have been saved through faith.

One thing i have to say is, i never get offended by people who talk about their beliefs, but people get offended when i question them. This is the only time i get offended i suppose, by the pure ignorance of those people. I once asked a muslim how does he know what he believed was true, and his answer led me to shake his hand, whereas most people try and explain very vaguely he said bluntly "I do not know, theres no way of knowing, its what i chose to believe" .
As an atheist (i followed jesus as a child because it sounded wonderful, until i started questioning things) there is one statement that i always reiterate.
If you burnt all scriptures and all science books and started afresh with no knowledge of the past and what people knew or believed, facts and science would rewrite those books as they are now, whereas religions would be completely rewritten. As they are being redescribed and "tailored" to fit in with what we now know to be true.
Religion to me has always been fascinating as a historical acciunt on what people knew, believed and made sense of things, but personally so many descrepancies just doesnt make me able to believe

    • @lookatthisjamoke
      @lookatthisjamoke Před 9 měsíci

Same here. Believe whatever you want to believe, im not mad. But when I dont just blindly follow or I question what is being told, they immediately resort to being offended, Agree to disagree or just outright say im stupid or lost. There is a scene in a movie called "the Man from earth" that I like to remember. In the movie, the main character is a 10,000 year old caveman. Having lived through multiple civilizations and many cultures, he came to believe that gods, demons and spirits were all BS.
This isnt to say I have a problem with people that have different beliefs. My brother is very into our Native American culture and I dont combat his beliefs. I simply go along with his logic until something stumps it.

"A fire-breathing dragon lives in my garage"
Suppose I seriously make such an assertion to you. Surely you'd want to check it out, see for yourself. There have been innumerable stories of dragons over the centuries, but no real evidence. What an opportunity!
"Show me," you say. I lead you to my garage. You look inside and see a ladder, empty paint cans, an old tricycle - but no dragon.
      "Where's the dragon?" you ask.
"Oh, she's right here," I reply, waving vaguely. "I neglected to mention that she's an invisible dragon."
You propose spreading flour on the floor of the garage to capture the dragon's footprints.
"Good idea," I say, "but this dragon floats in the air."
Then you'll use an infrared sensor to detect the invisible fire.
"Good idea, but the invisible fire is also heatless."
You'll spray-paint the dragon and make her visible.
"Good idea, but she's an incorporeal dragon and the paint won't stick."
And so on. I counter every physical test you propose with a special explanation of why it won't work.
Now, what's the difference between an invisible, incorporeal, floating dragon who spits heatless fire and no dragon at all? If there's no way to disprove my contention, no conceivable experiment that would count against it, what does it mean to say that my dragon exists? Your inability to invalidate my hypothesis is not at all the same thing as proving it true. Claims that cannot be tested, assertions immune to disproof are veridically worthless, whatever value they may have in inspiring us or in exciting our sense of wonder. What I'm asking you to do comes down to believing, in the absence of evidence, on my say-so.

    • @larryshair
      @larryshair  Před 9 měsíci +3

Thanks for the comment! I think that the trouble with the reasoning you had on a basic restart is flawed as it's more of a hypothetical point that has a hard time relating to reality. Given that the Bible was written by many writers over thousands of years and different continents is something very unique if you think about it. Think of any other topic where writers over a long period of time have their writings all come together perfectly points to an author outside of our understanding. I appreciate your question and point, though. It's actually a really good point. Blessing my friend!

    • @dobster1985
      @dobster1985 Před 9 měsíci

@@larryshair not grasping the uniqueness, shakespeare and dickens have all been rewritten all over the continents. However historically the bible has always been "rewritten"/translated, put to paper by either those in power, or those who can be biast towards it. A very interesting documentary i watched (forgot its name) explained how something can be translated to mean more than what it was originally referring to. And this can be seen in the new testamant as a big example.

I have watched it twice to make sure I understand all words well (my first language is Dutch). To me it is wonderful that you are talking so open and free about religion. I had the impression from the first reaction I have watched from you that you are a religious man, Chris, because of the way you are reacting: always calm and careful. And how can anyone be offended by that? I am going to church myself as well, but I do have every respect for people who don't: it is part of our freedom to be religious or not. But, as you, I feel a connection with Jezus. And singer Amira Willighagen from the Netherlands (she lives in South Africa and she has the same age as Lucy Thomas, 19 years) is feeling the connection with Jezus as well. Yesterday (20-10-2023) she has released a brand new song on CZcams: "Amen" which, I think, fits perfectly to this video. I am sure many people, believer or not, will feel the emotion of that song. Thank you for this video!!

i don´t want debate religion, i just have one Question, it is said that God made humans in his image but if he did that and humans are flawed wouldn´t that mean that God is flawed too?

Good question! The fall of man from the beginning is what had separated us from God and we needed some solution. Given that we made the wrong choice in the beginning shows our free will, which is so incredibly important. If you thought about it, if you had kids let's say, and you knew that they had no choice but to love you and no choice other than to follow you, you would basically have a robot on your hands with no choice but to comply with you. Given the choice is what makes our relationship with him so special. That was a GREAT question.

You know, alright you don't know so I'm just going to tell you. I've never had the patience to read the Bible because of so many questions that are not answered. Such as why would God hardened Pharaoh's heart if he could change him? Should I take the great flood literally or metaphorically? If I were to take it literally could I have answers to the line up questions and if I take it metaphorically what message does it convey? 😐 But I do appreciate your time sharing your belief. I closed my eyes and repeat the prayer and I'll give myself another chance to read the Scripture again. Thanks again Chris. I learned a few new things from you today about the Bible.

Thanks and really good questions. Here's a rapid fire answers to some of the questions - When God hardened Pharaoh's heart, the translation means more like he cemented Pharaoh in the pharaoh's choices. He had resisted so much that God finally "honored" Pharaoh's heart by solidifying it. Flood literally. If you do some research, you'll find evidence of a world flood all over the earth. Also, if the flood never happened, then the New Testament couldn't be true as it references the flood. Good questions my friend and thanks for the comment!

@@larryshair I'm really Grateful that you take the time to answer.I wish I could ask you more questions to clarify the doubts I have for several years. I've asked alot of people but most of them said that I should not question or doubt God's intentions and plans. Others provide vague answers. But if I dont question how would I learn

Oh, the Serpent in the Garden of Eden. The most cunning of the creatures that God had made. (crafty; cunning/making use of clever and indirect methods to achieve something) He Tricked Eve into eating the Forbidden fruit, yes? So, the first Sin of man was "disobedience" right? Um yes and no. Adam and Eve most certainly disobeyed the ONLY commandment they were given but the Sin was far GREATER than simply that. In order to FULLY grasp the Sin, one must understand what the Serpent said. Gen. 3:4-5 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: for God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. What did the serpent say? he said, "you will have the CHOICE to follow God or reject Him." "You will gain "Free Will"
It troubles me that "Free Will" is taught in Churches to this very day as "Gospel"
But in John 6:37-40 Jesus Answers that claim
All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.
And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.
And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.
We were created By God to be a GIFT to His only Son. Of those whom thou hast given me, I have lost not none- John 18-9
Our God is Our God because He created us to be His Gift to His Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ

Daniel, Romans, and Revelation require the most interpretation, and you may not want to tackle them first. Psalms, the Gospels and the epistles can build a foundation upon which to build a faith. Then the first five books of the Old Testament, (the Pentateuch books of Moses) can provide historical context, but this is just my opinion. Are you familiar with Pastor Gene Scott? He was labeled a televangelist, but he was a Seventh Day Adventist Pastor, in the truest sense, and though he is gone now his teaching is on the net.

If your name is not written in the Book of LIfe, you cannot obtain the Kingdom. So if you do not believe, you have a 100 pecent chance of not knowing God, and not seeing the Kingdom. On the other hand, David and Saul of Tarses were by biblical accounts, reprobates who couldn't be elected to any office, and yet, by God's grace, they became two of hte greatest men in human history. Maranatha! Peace be with you. (one minor correction, Isaac was Abrams other son, and tradition says he was the founder to the Islamic branch of Abraham's tree)(for further proof, look at the Apostles...all of whom save Judas and John were martyred, when all they had to do to live was deny and renounce him)

I'm a thief, liar, curser, adulterer (the Bible says if you even look at a woman with lust in your heart, you have committed adulatory with her (God looks at the heart)), law-breaker and lose my temper with my kids from time to time... oh, and I'm forgiven. You can be as well. Neither one of us can meet holy standards before God on our own. That's where we need His help and forgiveness. Thanks so much for your honesty

It has always puzzled me why people get all snowflaky about a reactor talking about his/her faith.
