So well put together! I'll never forget walking into the Tropicana in 2005 and how it was the busiest place on the Strip that we had been into. It's sad knowing it's closing today.
Wow Jeff! You outdid yourself! Excellent video. I started crying the minute My Way started because it was my (now passed) Mother’s favorite song and favorite singer. Dingo was in there last night (it’s the last 15-20 min of the stream if you want to see) and it was so so sad. All machines turned off and unplugged, all decorations and knick knacks gone, food court closed. It truly made me so sad because I hate the way Vegas is reinventing the city. It’s got the name but it is not Vegas anymore. If only they had upkept it the Trop would be at least one property that was in the “first to be built” memories. It was very nostalgic walking through and remembering the glitz and glamor as you show in your video. You captured the history of it beautifully. Sadly the generation that made Vegas bright lights, and classy people /celebs who dressed up for a show after a nice dinner are no longer coming to Vegas. I was born in ‘56 and there are not many from my generation going anymore. Makes it hard to keep the city close to what it once was when the people running the city don’t even remember “as it was”. You can see the demographic change just by observing the people walking around the Strip now. I feel the younger generations just don’t have the appreciation for old school glamor. Anyway, time marches on. Vegas will quickly become a city of sports and high priced music concerts very soon. I have a better appreciation for Fremont Street, even though the crowd is still the younger people, at least some of the original properties are working hard to preserve them. Your video is so good! Thank you so much for caring about your city enough to put all that work into making it. You rock! And I am still crying lol ❤

Hi Carol! Apparently, there’s a stained glass company that’s been here many many years who’s looking to purchase it from them. They have worked on pieces for The Golden Steer, MGM, The Arizona Club, The Spring’s Preserve and Pioneer Saloon. 🤞 😊
I cut out one of these ladies from that Vegas magazine and called it my PlayBoy magazine.

We were in Vegas for 311 Day since 3/5, ended up staying 4 extra days, making it a two week trip. Local friends told us we should check out Tropicana before it gets imploded. We had no idea that was happening, and we were right next door at Excalibur. I ended up watching a video here on YT about a man who’s trying to help save the stained glass ceiling. That made me want to plan our last day at Tropicana, since our flight was at 11:30pm. While researching what to see and do there, I came upon your video of all the dining options. Then found out that Rich Little has a nightly show there at the Laugh Factory. That was the last thing we did in Vegas, see Rich's show. This was last week on 3/19. We spent the whole day there after checking out. So happy we did! The most surprising thing I discovered there was all the grass, trees, and plants out by the pool. The grass is definitely old, original. It was the only normal looking grass I've ever seen in Vegas. Seems a shame to destroy that. I hope it somehow gets preserved. It's a literal oasis.

Funny, the Trop has been fairly irrelevant on our recent trips to Vegas. Peeked my head in the odd time but not much happening there I thought. Actually stayed there a few times in the years before they renovated. I’ll miss what it was, not so much what it is now, if that makes sense.
