Those gear wrench ones have rounded every single fastener I have used them on over the last 3 months. I bought them to replace my Icon ones to free up space in my tool box as I had both icon sets and this gear wrench set appeared to do both in one set of wrenches. I am taking them out of my toolbox and putting the Icons back in. You cannot trust a wrench that rounds fasteners off. They have to be dependable.

For sure, I am not a fan of the spline drive system. They were at the time, the only ones i couldfind that were long and flex like this. Coulndt afford snapon then.
But spending the money on the snapon ones in the video was 100% worth it, great fastener engagement. One of my most prized tools now.

      Six point only.
Twelve point for twelve point fasteners......and spline for spline fasteners.

I'm glad I'm not the only one. I thought they were going to be the ends all long wrench for me in a shop. Nope...they aren't professional grade imo.

@@robcrossan6274 yea I just got the snap on ones today because I kept braking the gearwrench ones so I gave them to a lube tech for 50 bucks but they were 650 but I’m just sick of constantly breaking them and I’m out in the field on a mine so I can’t have them break lol

You can use shims or spring/clam washers to eliminate "floppy-ness" ; the bolt is not meant to tighten the flop.

Those Snap-on wrenches look sweet. I don't have the gearwrench spline drive wrenches but have the larger 21 and 24mm 12 one you have and for the main reason I got them the 0 offset box end they have worked good. I do wish they has the 0 offset on the ratchet wrench side move like the mountain wrench. Thanks for sharing

They are very nice wrenches indeed. Low backdrag and they are damn strong. main thing was to get away from the spline drive

These are one of those Snap-On tools that have the "essence". The other brands might have it too, I haven't used them to judge one way or the other, but I can say the Snap-On set is a joy to use. If you're the kind of guy who has 50 screwdrivers but whenever you open the drawer you only look for the Snap-On ones, these wrenches are like that.

I used the that gearwrench kit for around 5 years in a shop, daily use. They arent great..i broke a couple and had a hard time getting warranty. Ended up buying new ones. Expensive for what they are. Also that spline drive is loose, tight bolts will be rounded over by these under alot of torque. I bought that exact snap on set recently and they are quality. Also i really like the kabo made wrenches, the ones icon and matco rebrand. They have that collar which is nice on some situations, and pretty beefy.

A guy who buys snapon before he buys six point wrenches should keep extra duct tape around. Works good as a motor mount. And works good as radiator hose clamps.
