I remember seeing Nadu during spoiler season and wondering how a card like that was allowed to be printed. It's kind of shocking that it was ever allowed to exist in its current form
So something I've been thinking about...when MH3 was being tested, one of the top meta decks that they would be using would be Rakdos Scam, *with* Fury. And if you're trying to make a creature combo deck be playable in a format where Fury is one of the defining cards, then the payoff/engine card had better be really damn good to make it worth stuffing my deck with a bunch of 1/1 and 1/2 creatures.
@sgjuxta Pretty reasonable, but I doubt Fury would tip the scales much. Nadu is so busted in so many ways. It's too cheap, it's too durable, it punishes your opponent for using targeted removal, it generates infinite value from game actions that can easily and repeatedly be accomplished using 0 mana, and it even has flying.
Like, what were they thinking?
The “ ended at the wrong part of text 😂
Been waiting for this, nice! Huge fan of Kozileks Command and Yggdrasil.
When they get you with Boseiju,
you'll be happy your Forest had its debut.
There is a June saga deck that has Six instead of Amp. It's in the Jund discord. It's been pretty great!
Wait... assassins creed is modern legal?
Ye, like the lord of the rings is
Yes, just not the reprints
@@knightofthenorth926it includes reprints, black market connections is now modern legal for example
45:27 woooh!! the thing!!!
I think what you'd have to do to fix Nadu would be errata it to say that "This ability triggers only twice each turn across all instances of all creatures." It would still be a good card, but that would at least eliminate the combo element
breaker of creation is a sick card i was watching some timeless content with it being the prime reanimation target put it into play turn 1 or 2 and it just locks people out of the game. I wonder if you can do something like that in modern.
Can someone tell me why we have forests instead lf wastes? I feel like im missing something :s
Wastes does not have a land type, so it's not findable off of Boseiju.
I do believe that The One Ring should be Restricted in Vintage for flavor reasons. Also Solitary Hunter should be changed to be Legendary, and we would have a monogreen pauper Commander
Spike looks like he has a bad sunburn on my screen and its incredibly distracting 😅
Nadu is basically a tier 1 eggs deck its awful to play against with insanly long turns with minimal difference in gameplay
Bring untup one color artefact lands back!
rather than:
Flying
Creatures you control have “Whenever this creature becomes the target of a spell or ability, reveal the top card of your library. If it’s a land card, put it onto the battlefield. Otherwise, put it into your hand. This ability triggers only twice each turn.”
The Oracle text for Nadu, Winged Wisdom could be changed to read:
Flying
Whenever a creature you control becomes the target of a spell or ability, reveal the top card of your library. If it’s a land card, put it onto the battlefield. Otherwise, put it into your hand. This ability triggers only twice each turn.
This change would make the format more fun, less oppressive, and give players less of a reason to quit playing Magic.
(note: I don't personally dislike Nadu, but it has become clear to me that most players do and that Nadu, as currently worded, is not so much format warping as format defining.)
WIzards very much doesn't want to errata cards in that way. Historically it has been hard to avoid erratas, but they will, and should imo, ban Nadu.
They certainly could do this but I just don't think it's worth it, the cards not really fun or unique with or without the change. It's just value.card
I don't really know what this accomplishes as that change would just be a ban with extra steps; the card you propose is not Modern playable. Which is often the case with powerlevel erratas: the Historic format on MTGA has the same issue.
it would probably be better to make it say something like “draw a card, you may reveal it if it’s a land card and put it into play” so bowmasters and sheoldred could keep it in check but realistically just ban it
