- Hey guys, I'm back with another video!! So, we are kicking off the spooky season with a highly requested movie from you guys. That is of course IT, which I hadn't actually seen the full thing. Obviously I was aware of the sewage drain scene and Georgie but other than that I had no idea what I was getting myself into. This movie was so unsettling and creepy when I first saw it. I really liked how sometimes Pennywise was on the screen but the movie didn't turn it into a jumpscare. Sometimes a thing or person would look out of place in the background and if you paid attention, you'd notice him. Absolutely amazing.
Ya, the only thing that made it funny (or was the funniest) wasn’t even the kids jokes- IT WAS HIS DANCE😂😂😂😂

I went to see IT (this version) in the cinema way back when and cinemaxx (German version of Vue) thought it would be hilarious to get a staff member to put on a yellow raincoat, get a red balloon and just stay sat in the first row in the theater only to get up as soon as the movie started and walk out without a word. Everyone was shitting themselves thinking there was either Georgie in the first row (less likely) or some person who took the movie a bit too serious and was gonna go freak out or sth in a sec.
Now we need IT Chapter 2 because we all love to see Brad cry

It is something that’s fairly easy to enjoy watching if you’re a horror film enthusiast. The plot’s not overly complicated and we can all make fun of Pennywise and how he terrorizes children without mercy. Glad you’ve reacted to this movie, Brad. We all look forward to more of your reactions.
this may be weird to some people, but IT is my comfort movie. i love horror, and the humor ties it all together. everything is amazing. that’s why this is my comfort movie, and never have i ever is my comfort show.

It’s ALL realistic that’s why IT is so genuinely scary. All those kids were victims of the worst kinds of psychological, physical and sexual abuse

The most disturbing thing about IT isn’t penny wise but real life. Especially in the books. Abusive parents, psychotic bullies and the fact that adults don’t pay attention to what’s happening.
The adults don't pay attention because that's the effect Pennywise has on the adults. He makes them not notice unless he wants them to see him
Honestly with eddie and richie's jokes IT is more of a dark comedy than horror at this point

The little brother (Georgie) is actually a good actor, Some child actor do struggle but hes is talented. He is in a show called Locke and Key, have you ever seen it?
if you ever plan to watch the second one, mentally prepare yourself for the beginning. it is very brutal. i don’t want to spoil things for you but it was honestly incredibly shocking when i saw it in theatres

okay so the thing is the kiss worked solely because ben wholeheartedly believed that it’d work, and IT feeds off of the fear he can create before he kills the kids so he keeps prolonging the kills so he can create more fear to feed off

This is like my ultimate comfort horror movie (feels weird to say, because I was never scared during it, but the characters are just so good) and while I have issues with Chapter Two (not the casting, the cast is like one of the best. Ever.), but yeah both movies hold a special place in my heart. To this day, I can't listen to the score and not get overly emotional.
Might I ask what you dislike about IT 2? I thought it was pretty good, I just like to hear other ppls opinions on it :) And I totally agree, the characters make IT feel like such a great comfort movie. I’ve seen it countless times. And definitely one of the best horror movies of mine, since I actually give a shit abt the characters, cus they aren’t one dimensional characters like 95% of horror movie characters
@@jjsstikbotvideos4421 Oh I just have a complicated relationship with the movie. I've seen it SO many times, I was obsessed with it when it came out - but it is hard to ignore the flaws. I am not a fan of how rushed the first 30 minutes were. They should have taken time reintroducing the characters. I don't like what they do in the second act (gonna be vague here, but ya know, but I needed more of the group together)
And Mike got robbed. Let's just say that.
The last hour IS powerful, a strong ending, but I can barely ever watch all the way through the end (because of what happens, my heart can't take it)
I don't dislike the movie, I just have very complicated feelings about it.
@bottlife2407 Because it can be read as subtext in the book, and the whole trope of found family, which the Losers' Club is all about is prominent in queer media. So it makes perfect sense.
I love the “Bill’s gonna kill me/you” lines knowing that the actor playing Pennywise is called Bill 😂
I still remember watching this movie. Went to the theatre alone at night. It captured the feeling of childhood so damn well. It's the impression that I remember the most. That weird heavy feeling in your chest, like you are saying goodbye to something you don't want to let go of.

It's the found family for me, which is even better in the 90s miniseries btw, but this is my fave because the kids all did such a great job and are both great horror and comedy actors. I would LOVE to see your reaction to chapter two, but honestly gotta say the first one is a lot better in many ways.

i was 7 when IT came out, and my dad took me to see IT ,he was high off his ass and mad at my mom and took me to the movies then went to get dip&dots, He sat me down to watch the 1990 version a couple hours before then we went to see it. I saw it and LOVED IT..not to mention i had a crush on richie tozier...😮

I love this movie lol I was pretty young when I saw this and it freaked me out. I watched it again a couple months ago and now I'm laughing and complementing Skarsgård's acting. This all around is just an amazing movie!!

Just to clarify your doubts about the nature of Pennywise: Obviously he is NOT a clown, in the books he is said to be like an "alien", but even that doesn't describe him accurately because he didn't come from any planet and there is no one in the universe like it, In fact he was created a LONG time ago, in theory as long as the universe has been alive, he is what would be called "the darkness of the universe", because everything has a light side and a dark side, he is like the embodiment of the darkness of the universe in a "living" being
And as the movie makes clear, he is VERY powerful, he changes shape, has telepathic and illusory powers and also teleportation, as he disappears and appears in the blink of an eye
But his main power is shape-shifting, he has a real shape, but it's so abstract that the human brain can't even understand it, it's like the creatures from Bird Box, you look and you just can't understand what's in front of you because it's so absurd and surreal that your brain just bugs, that's why he often takes the form of a sinister clown, as it's generally agreed that clowns are kind of sinister, but he does it mainly to eat (which the movie makes clear that it's something he NEED to do) but he doesn't just feed on meat, he feeds on the victim's fear too, he actually describes in the books that fear is more like a spice than food itself, he LIKES to eat meat, but fear makes it taste MUCH better, that's why he usually attacks children: they are easier to scare, he just needs to lure them to him using illusions (like voices, sounds and red balloons) and then take the form of their worst fear (which he knows because of his telepathy) and then torture them psychologically to "temper" their meat and eat

I watched this movie back in 2019 with my two roommates, my roommate that had already seen it put it on to watch us watch it. He was killing himself laughing at our responses, I was completely unfazed by all the jumpsacres but our other roommate was terrified and had leave the room and would peek around the corner to keep watching. My roommate our polar opposite reactions hilarious.

Ever since i saw this for the first time, I just feel so overwhelmingly sick over the severity of the "bullies." I'd truly prefer to label them psychopaths instead because they were truly evil and way scarier than Pennywise or any other inhuman entity because those kids had to deal with their torture daily. Having typed all that, I still think it's a great film and holy shit, as others have said, the casting for the sequel is probably the best ever. Aside from Hill House, they really are unmatched in terms of finding the older actors to play the "Losers" in the sequel. LOVE that the kids were able to give their input and have it actually end up the way they imagined (for some, not all).

I remember watching this in the theatre. It was a big experience and the theatre even hired someone that was dressed up as pennywise to come into the theatre and scare people while they were watching the movie.
