The Harry Potter series is brilliant, you should definitely watch it! The fandom side of Harry Potter is definitely a safe space for the LGBTQ community, even if the writer isn’t.

Dumbledor is gay. lol And she already has said she has nothing against the trans community but women are women and men are men. You can make yourself look like a woman (transwoman) or man (transman) but you are still biologically what you are born as. You cannot consider yourself a real man or woman. That's all she said which is facts and common sense. Just because you don't agree with common sense or facts does not make her opinion against the whole entire community. lol Some of you are delusional. Maybe one day technology can do that for humans but right now, no. So stick to the facts and common sense.

I’m trans and I still love Harry Potter even though I hate JKR and her views, the books and the movies were a huge part of my childhood and still bring me a lot of happiness. I would LOVE to see your reaction to the movie series!! 💖💖💖 A disclaimer and link to trans charities would be super helpful at the beginning of those videos if you do decide to make them ☺️
I agree, I always felt the HP universe was a safe place and I hate Jk for hurting that but I think of her as separate from the books and movies tbh. I think of her as a profit that told the story more than anything else 😂

So proud of Millie in this role, she's phenomenal. As is Louis. But DAMN, Henry Cavill completely pulled my focus. He looks so fucking good in this role and plays it SO WELL that I can't even process it. I have to rewatch scenes because the first time around I don't comprehend a single thing said because I'm too busy gawking at him.

With watching the Harry Potter movies, I think it's up to the individual to decide what they are comfortable with. Like, there are trans people who watch the films who get a lot of joy from the story and how it can apply to their journey, and it's not fair for me as a cis bi woman to say that they shouldn't do that. So I'm not fully in the camp that watching the films or even paying to watch them is automatically terrible, but I do think that watching them and (especially) promoting them isn't necessarily harmless either. If you want to make sure that you are sending a clear message about your support for trans people, then I would say that in each video, and honestly, I think it would be really great if you made the videos into fundraisers for charities that help trans people in some way. Better yet, donate some of the money earned from those videos to charity yourself! (Within reason, I'm sure you have bills to pay and don't want to insinuate that you aren't allowed to make any profit). People are going to continue making videos about Harry Potter and I would rather watch a Harry Potter reaction from a gay content creator donating to a trans charity than some random dude who thinks that HP fans are too "woke" or something lol

I think “pleasantly surprised” is the perfect description of this movie. Like I had no real expectations and it was a nice, perfectly enjoyable experience!
The suffragette history definitely needs to be covered better in schools, not just in England but everywhere. It was such an important campaign in terms of women’s rights & is vital at a time when people are trying ti strip rights away again.

As for HP, there’s this concept called Death of the Author which I have to apply now whenever I read/watch HP. It states that once a work is created and published, the author no longer has any say in it and cannot retroactively try to apply new meaning to their words. I have to dissociate the world and its magic (all of which I have loved since I was a child) from the terrible person who created it and is now trying to ruin it. It’s perfectly possible to still watch and love the films while hating Rowling - I’ll support you if you choose to react to them for sure - just maybe reiterate your support for the trans community in each video or something so viewers know why you’re doing it?

Don't worry, you watching Harry Potter would be a good time! Personally I wouldn't watch a HP series but I know plenty of people would love to see it! If you can watch the movies in a way that won't financially support her that'd be the best thing you could do
The second movie is great and there's even more of Sherlock! I'd love to watch your reactions to the Harry Potter series. JKR is repugnant, but the themes of acceptance, courage and friendship are really universal and its a beautiful world even with the problematic creator. The way I look at it as the wizarding world belongs to the fandom now and I refuse to let JKR ruin what is so special to me.

harry potter series is AMAZING!! don't let the author stop you from watching, i understand not wanting to support the author and her close-minded views but at the same time, it's a lot of other people's work that's involved not just hers. you'll also be supporting all the incredible actors, directors, and staff who put 10 years of hard work into making all the films. i think you would LOVE the HP movies! the fandom also is such a good mix of people, and does not share the same mindset as JKR

Gosh, I would love to see your react to Harry Potter. But, there really is the real harm she’s contributing to and perpetuating, to take into consideration. I’m not trans myself, so I’d suggest looking to that community in making your decision, but I had some ideas in how you could possibly still react in a responsible manner. i understand the pov of the fandom trying to “reclaim” it from JKR or “separate the art from the artist,” but a lot of her bad opinions are obvious in her work, and (as a trans person) i’m more on the side of not supporting her art in any way because she still gets paid for it. obviously it’s your channel so it’s up to you if you watch the films-and it’s obvious you don’t agree with her opinions-but you asked what we thought so i figured i’d pitch in :)
