I wasn't so convinced to hear this album at first cuz Lady Wood was so special to me in regards of knowing my sexuality and my vibes as a queer boy and I didn't really like Sunshine Kitty but when I heard 2 die 4 I thought "yup this is it!!". Had the chance to hear her live on Lollapalooza Chile 2023 and it was incredible, she's an amazing performer. Not many could rock a stage like that on a 32 celsius degrees summer evening!
Ik I'm 2 years late to this video, but I started crying when you reacted to I'm To Blame. I've listened to that song every time I've been upset and seeing someone else react to it for the first time was so visceral. Love your channel already!

This album is amazing and its been on repeat since it was first released. So many bangers like, Suburbia, Grapefruit, 2 Die 4, Pineapple Slice, Attention Whore, etc....but my all ultimate favorite is No One Dies from Love and of course the video is incredible.
In my opinion, this album has some of her best full pop songs: Call On Me, How Long, Pinneaple Slice, 2 die 4. However the album is not my favorite of hers cause some of the songs are not that strong like Cute&Cruel (to me the country vibe doesn't go well in this album) and Attention Whore (I love the hook but hate the feature). Sunshine Kitty and Lady Wood are still my favorite albums from her but I give Dirt Femme a 8/10

Absolutely loved this album and watching you react to it! 🥰I have been belting out along with True Romance all summer and it's a favourite because it shows such a different side to Tove imo. Even though she slays the electro pop genre I find it so refreshing to hear her this stripped back. Love that this album is so full of different genres and styles! Also yeah, she captures those thoughts and feelings so well on Grapefruit and honestly would encourage you to watch the music video as well even though it can be a bit triggering!

My Opinion: I guess the title 'Dirt Femme' makes more sense from a woman's perspective maybe? This album gives a voice to the 'dirty' side of being a woman. The side that is not talked about much. Not wanting kids, wanting sex, feeling horny, wanting attention, eating disorders, self harm. We can be lazy, toxic, strong, independent, self destructive and indecisive. I love this album as it showcases the dirty side of the femme, hence Dirt Femme. Or the natural being of women ( Dirt=earth=natural/nature). We are not to be pigeonholed as the femme fatal or delicate and dainty. Woman can be all things. We are all things. xxx

TOVE LO GIVES ME LIFE ❤️ I've been the biggest fan ever since her EP days right before 'Habits' became huge. I'm so proud of her with every album but I swear Dirt Femme is in a whole other level! "I'm to Blame", "Grapefruit" and "Suburbia" so painfully honest.

Many people, many opinions. Imo "Attention Whore" is the best song of the album together with "Suburbia" and "NODFM". By the way, check out Channel's music, he's very funky and I adooooore his voice. Also he produces his music

I love this album, but honestly listening to the singles did indeed take away from the experience of the album. In my opinion the rollout was a little bit messy and she dropped too many singles before the album came out…. Also the singles were such strong songs so it almost made the album feel a little underwhelming but I still love it.

As someone who listened to every single as they were released, I can confirm that yes, it did take away from the album a bit because there were 5 singles released from an only 12-track album, of which a couple tracks I don't care all too much for at the end of the day and under the context of this being mostly a pop-bangers album😅 I also think, however, that she started releasing singles way too early... I mean, she released How Long well before NODFL, which was released in I think March. For an October album drop, that's too long of time, IMO, to start dropping singles almost 9 months out. But hey, as a whole, it's still a great album.
Per your question about what the title Dirt Femme means, Tove has described this album as an expression of her femininity (the original working title just called Feminine before arriving on Dirt Femme) and all of its different facets. She also has different characters, she says, for all the tracks: e.g., for NODFL, it's "the glamorous damsel in distress"; for 2 Die 4, it's "Wonder Woman with big dick energy"; for Grapefruit, it's "the self-hating perfectionist"; etc.
How long was not supposed to be on the album. No one dies from love was considerate the lead single back in may, but the fans asked her to include the song. She mentioned in a interview she was not sure to include the song or not. She did it and it was the right move because it's so good .

I listened to the album one time only for now so my impression may change later, but I honestly don't enjoy it as much as I did with her previous projects. Sunshine Kitty is my favorite album as almost every song sounds perfection to me. On this one I must admit that I only enjoyed Suburbia and Pineapple Slice but it will may change after some more listen. I love the verses of 2 Die 4 but I hate the sample and the chorus melody... it could have been better without it and with a different construction of the chorus for me. Maybe it's because I'm a songwriter too and I can't help but to imagine something else, something original and more creative as the verses are. But again it's just me and I'm glad so many people enjoy this project, Tove Lo is a great artist with a great catalogue and she deserves her flowers for it.

I guess that’s why music is subjective, in my opinion sunshine kitty is her second worst album. QOTC will always be her best album… because the singles of dirt femme were so strong I thought she may even top QOTC but after hearing dirt femme I don’t think it did. Dirt femme is still a really good album and something different sonically & lyrically for Tove. I’ll definitely keep enjoying her new music.
@@Alexx22570 exactly, it's subjective as you said. QOTC is also one of my favorite with Lady Wood. It's not that I didn't like Blue Lips but I enjoyed less songs than the other projects. When Sunshine was released I felt like I was 100% into it again and I lost it a little with this last album but Pineapple actually sticks in my head, very good one for me.
Honestly i don't think she has a bad album, there's something about her music that's just perfect to me, not a bad song, it's effin impressive imo, however i think sunshine kitty is the one i listen the least for some reason, Lady Wood and Queen of the Clouds are still my untouchable top 2.
