    Thanks for your video. I just changed out a pair of fog lamps in under an hour and I am old. I knew what i was up against before I started thanks to your instructions. I used a 10mm racheting wrench. Thanks 👍.

    You saved me a hell of a lot of grief by teling us what tool to use. It was still very difficult for me to maneuver to be able to lossen the screws, but it would've been far more difficult without your advice. Thanks!!

    Thanks, great instructional video. BTW our Suburban has 280,000 miles only major problem has been a coolant leak from the heater core under the dash which is now making the front carpet wet (especially the passenger side). We will replace both the heater core and AC core at the same time because the dash removal is a pain in the butt. Thanks again. Kevin O'Connor

    The short ratchet is known as a 1/4” drive ratchet (and suitable socket )
    Be sure to use the metal Rod and adjusting knob to set the correct beam height
    Put your truck about 6 feet from your garage door , turn fog light on and adjust the new one to match the other .
    When replacing both because the lens fell out , replace the non working one , adjust to the working one , then replace and adjust the other to match the first one .

    2006 Cadillac Escalade EXT fog light remove and replace. Turn the wheel to Left to replace the Drivers light and Right to replace Passenger fog lamp. Definitely use a pillow. THE 2006 ESCALADE REQUIRES A 7mm SOCKET. When loosening the three 7mm screws, use the socket wrench to break the screw loose, then remove the ratchet and twist the socket reducer and socket by hand. Don't be fooled by turning the washer 100 times before I realized that the screw wasn't turning! The first fog light took about 40 minutes, the second about 30 minutes. Jack in Meridian, ID

      There’s one I’m looking at on Amazon that looks cool but I’m not too sure if they are any good or not. They have what looks like a projector in the center and then two little led lights on either side. The issue is it is made to fit these chevys and gmcs but it one has an adjuster for up and down, not side to side... not sure if that even matters though. And the reviews are spotty so it’s hard to tell if these are good or worthless.

    The dealer wouldn't pass my truck's inspection with a broken fog lamps lens and they wanted too much to replace one compared to what I could spend to purchase 2 new lamp assemblies and do it myself, so in order to pass I told them to remove both of them and asked them to give me all the parts they removed. They somehow forgot to put the parts in the truck and when I told the rep and he went to look for them he could only find one (the broken one!) laying around. Problem is they also removed the mounting bolts too. I purchased two new assemblies but it doesn't come with the bolts so now I don't have anything to mount them to the truck. I see you mention that you used a 10mm socket, do you know what size and length the bolt was. I'm assuming it's just a basic bolt and hoping I can just go to a home store and get what I need, or maybe advanced auto, but not really sure exactly the material, length etc that was used. If you remember any info about them it would be helpful, thanks!

    Hey Joseph, I'm thinking about buying an 03' Chevy Tahoe 1500 with 182,000 miles on it. With this many miles is there anything I should worry about this truck? Are there any know issues affecting this models? Thanks for the advice.

    • @JosephChavez
      @JosephChavez  Před 8 lety +1

      +Evil Dude Wow. 182k. Ours has around 130k. Honestly, our Tahoe has given us years of faithful service, but it's showing it's age. Right now the biggest things we have to fix are: 1) it's using coolant. Not sure if the water pump is leaking or if it's something more serious. But I have to put a gallon of coolant in every several months. I don't smell coolant necessarily when it's hot. I hear this is a sign that the pump is leaking and dripping on a hot engine and that's why you don't see it on the ground but you'd smell it. 2) it has started to make a clicking noise underneath when it's in drive and you accelerate. I don't hear it when I'm just cruising, only at acceleration. Not sure what that is but my mechanic says it could be the drive shaft or some other bearing related to the drive train. That's next on the agenda. What I have done recently besides the fog lamps are: replacing the oil pressure sending switch (had the mechanic do it as it's a nightmare to reach behind the block) and fuel pressure sending switch (super easy and quick job). We did replace the plugs at 100k. About 10 years ago we had an rear axel seal that had to be replaced. Other than that, nothing super major. Like most cars, it's all in the maintenance of it. Oh: a lot of the dashboard lighting is out (radio buttons, etc.). Sometimes our rear speakers (we got the Bose option at time of purchase) buzz and make a screeching sound that rises with the engine RPMs. Not all the time. Not sure what's causing it. I also need to switch out the daytime driving lamp sockets. One of them is completely fried: known issue as the bulbs they recommend get too hot.

    • @djEvilDude
      @djEvilDude Před 8 lety

      +Joseph Chavez Thank so much for your reply. The truck in question looks really nice. The salesman mentioned it had only one owner which apparently did a lot of after marker changes to the radio and even installed a "double vision" dvd player for the rear passengers. Sadly the salesman cannot provide proof or record indicating as to whether the truck and the transmission were serviced. I'm thinking about test driving it and have mu mechanic do a complete check up.
