- Winds were strong - 18 to 25+ all day, but out of the SW which made for mostly flat water. Very little powerboat traffic which is always good. Other than one mishap, this was simply a GREAT day of sailing. The Weta's planing skiff hull really comes to life when the wind gets over 20 knots. If you steer correctly, the boat gets up on top and skips across the water. At some point I hit 19.2 knots downwind on the SpeedPuck (best 10 second average). Just really ideal conditions and a hell of a lot of fun. Great way to close out the 2023 season.
