- After Bart Simpson pulled up Blinky, the three eyed fish from the waters beside the power plant, it changed Springfield forever. Today we explore everything there is to know about Blinky the fish, from the time he derailed Mr. Burns' run for governor, to all of his future appearances. This is the complete history of Blinky the fish!
A quick shoutout to SynthiaMX42 for suggesting this video! It's not a topic that I've ever thought of but once i read the comment, i got curious as to how often Blinky really showed up. I know we've all seen him time to time in random places, but nothing like the the dedicated episode he got in season 2. Anyways, once i started researching, i was surprised to find all of the places he popped up, was a lot of fun to make this one.

I would love a Complete History of Radioactive Man, with all the different iterations, adaptations, storylines and all the other interesting heroes and villains of his series as well as the times he directly interacted with the Simpsons cast, such as the big Superhero Simpsons comic special.

2:52 OBJECTION! The squirrel was not mutated by the power plant's pollution, but by the pollution in Lake Springfield. While you could argue for pollution by the power plant playing a role in the transformation, the thing that triggered it all was Homer's crap silo. Now, does that mean that the crap in the silo was radioactive? Or that the power plant is actually producing pig waste? No. Remember what Homer said in regards to the silo filling up so quickly; he said that he had helped, meaning that his own waste was also in the silo. Conclusion? Perhaps years working at the power plant has turned Homer's waste nuclear, or perhaps the power plant is really not to blame for all these multi-eyed freaks. I propose that Homer has secretly been shitting in the river connected to the power plant, and that his waste is the true culprit behind creatures like Blinky.

This fish is why I don't eat seafood to this day. As a little kid when these episodes were airing we weren't even allowed to watch the simpsons, but when my older brother would babysit us we would. I think I was like 5 or 6 and blinky was just so disgusting and unsettling to me that I couldn't stop thinking about it. We went to skippers fish and chips like two days later and my brother held up a bit of fish on his fork like the scene with Mr. Burns and I threw up at the table at the public resturant. Seafood has grossed me out my entire life since then. I never eat anything that comes out of the water. If we were meant to eat that stuff, we would have gills. Gross.

I have an interesting topic for you: The magically swapping voices of Rod and Todd Flanders. In the first 6 Seasons Todd has the deeper (Nancy Cartwright) voice, while Rod has the higher (Pamela Hayden) voice, but in Season 7 the voices swap so now Rod has the deeper (Nancy Cartwright) voice and Todd has the higher (Pamela Hayden) voice. This is how their voices are until it reverts by Season 31's "Why has Todd Forsaken Me" Episode.

How does the Nuclear Power Plant avoid being shut down if they cause mutations and has a lot of safety problems? There is a theory that Homer keeps his job as a Safety Inspector because he’s so incompetent that he doesn’t notice anything that goes wrong. The government doesn’t know because it’s not being reported.
