Cuties... ASDs have little needle teeth. It amazes me how that little balls for fur will explode legs in a couple of weeks. We are on our second ASD, and loved them both, great dogs.
I have male Anatolian/German shepherd named Max. He chews on my ankles a lot.I am amazed how strong he is at 7 months...broke a chain twice! Had to use stronger chain!
We have 2 rescued Anatolians. The male was about 9 months old when we got him and a prodigious chewer, which he remained for several years until he finally grew up, to some extent. He would chew his leashes in half while laying in the back of the car when I drove him to the local park or trails, and I finally resorted to soaking a leash in hot unsweetened Sriracha sauce, which stopped his leash chewing. He would also steal kitchen implements out of the sink, such as spatulas with rubber parts, and plastic-handled kitchen scissors, taking them out in the yard and chewing the plastic and rubber parts to bits, leaving the metal behind. He would steal empty soup or dog food cans out of the trash and take them outside thriugh the dig door; we would find them with punctures that looked like somebody had shot holes in the can! He turned out to be a great dog once he became an adult: very chill and unflappable, and friendly with strangers,, although slightly aloof even with us, unless you have food to share. Probably the number one instruction for owners of Anatolians is, don't leave anything edible in the kitchen counter! We also adopted a female Anatolian a little over a year ago, and she is a complete cuddle-bunny, loves kids and complete strangers, and acts as a foster mom when we foster other rescues. I have a video of the two Anatolians and our rescued Lab mix on my channel. Right now we are fostering a 4 month old, 50 pound German Shepherd /Great Pyrenees mix who is a bundle of energy. Never a dull moment!
I have an Anatolian Shepherd Great Pyrenees. Rescued her from a neighbor who didn't have the time for her. She looks alot like your puppies and she came from TX
Hi Kimberly, very cute puppies :) Hope you know these are working dogs and they need to be stimulated all the time. I dont know if you shall keep them all but if you decide to put them in adoption, please have them to be placed in farms, or houses with very big yards. These are not that kind of dog you keep them in an apartment and take a walk once a day in a dog park. Love and cheers from TR :)
Hi! Thanks for watching my videos. If you continue to watch my videos, you'll see I have had farms, several in fact. This is when I had 184 acres and 100+ dairy goats. These dogs are excellent protectors for more than farms. They also make great ADA service dogs. I have 2 in California that are service dogs for ladies with MS, 1 PTSD dog for a guy in Oklahoma out of the military, 1 in Texas for a boy that has Asperger's disease, and a seeing eye dog in Fort Worth. Thank you for your comment!
@@KimberleyHurTX Hi Kimberly, I feel like an idiot cause I stated my advices before I go further in to your videos - I am sorry . You provide an excellent environment for these animals and I adore it. I myself raise sheep and have 2 of them for my flock. Anatolian Shepherds and Kangal dogs were first used out of TR in Africa in the begining of 90s - to protect the flocks against cheetahs, hyenas and wild dogs etc. It is nice to see them having a wonderfull life and do their jobs in the hands of responsible breeders like you.
@@futuuu, unfortunately, breeders in some southern states are breeding Anatolians or Anatolian crosses that get sold to people who haven't done any breed research first, and whose homes and lifestyles aren't compatible with what will grow to be a large and headstrong dog that needs a lot of stimulation and physical activity, as well as consistent and continual training and socialization. We own two rescued Anatolians (see video on my channel), and the rescue agencies we foster for here in New England have been flooded with juvenile Anatolians that were found as strays down South, or at best surrendered by owners who weren't prepared for the monster that their new puppy would quickly become. In some states, many dog pounds have a 90% kill rate, which breaks my heart. My advice to prospective dog owners is always to consider rescuing a dog first, preferably a juvenile or an adult. Leave the puppies, especially large breed pups, to people who specifically need to start early training of the dogs for a certain job or to be non-aggressive with livestock, which must be done at the puppy stage ( My Anatolians would be more likely to eat a sheep than to protect them but that's because they weren't conditioned as puppies to be around them). BTW, we are currently fostering a German Shepherd/Great Pyrenee's mix who is 50 pounds at 4 months and I'm quite sure will be well over 100 pounds fully grown. He's extremely smart and is constantly watching me for cues and clues; he's very food driven, therefore he's trainable, but he's going to need a lot of extra training and socialization and heavy exercise that as an old guy myself I won't be able to give him, so the bulk of it will fall to the new owner. He'll be an excellent family dog, perhaps even a working dog, for the right owner. My female Anatolian is very maternal and tolerant, and she keeps an eye on him and plays and roughhouses with him, but corrects him if he gets too rowdy or wound up.
