- I've been keeping an eye on PDP's FCC filings ever since they tweeted about new controllers, anticipating a submission coming through to give us a first glimpse of the guitar.
That happened today. We now know that the RiffMaster Wireless Guitar is the first plastic guitar controller to be manufactured since Rock Band 4. - Hry

I will be buying one of these DAY ONE! hopefully we will quickly be able to use these on the PC versions of GH/RB and also get them up on running on Emulators such as Dolpin and RPCS3.

Looks great, I'm guessing the Xbox version will be plug-n-play with PC. Hopefully it's successful so PDP and other companies will be encouraged to make more!

Pretty similar internals to the jaguar as well, has ribbon cable and same cable/hardware setup on the foldable section, only thing different is the battery. I wonder if the strum bar will be changed or able to be replaced with byte arts strum bar fix.

A question about your store. What happens if you try to ship outside of the US? I know in a previous video you said it's for US only but it seems like it gives me the option to order outside of US when putting in my City and Postal.

Thanks for the vid. Just got a PS5, and RB4 was $10 so bought it not knowing how expensive guitars are now. Hoping Riffmaster is compatible with RB4, but knowing Epic, who bought Harmonix, probably only Fortnite. If I find a Wii guitar, will buy your adapter. Thanks again. 🎸

Curious to see that since it uses a dongle if Whammy and Tilt will work on PC. Whammy and Tilt don’t work on the Jag because of Bluetooth and missing drivers. Wonder if both PlayStation and Xbox guitars will function as xInput controllers 🤔

The dongle might be for pc users but that said on PC we can use Bluetooth.
NGL kinda hoping this also could work for PC , i have my steamdeck ready for a guitar and all but i don't really know where to start to get one or if i do find one they are realllyyy expensive.
Having USB C as an option is amazing. There are a ton of GH3 guitars for PlayStation that have lost their dongle and some are waste unless people mod them with arduino.
Altho I am not sure if the USB C is just for charging or it also works wired... I hope it does so lost dongles are not an issue.
Last but not least. I am really interested in the fact that you can connect a headset to the guitar controller.
Hey bro i recently bought the V3 adapter and noticed when it arrived that it has some rattling in the casing, is this nothing to worry about? Haven’t had a chance to test it as my guitar is still on the way, Sidenote this news is very exciting it seems plastic instruments are making a comeback.
Hey! That's normal, those are the metal ball tilt sensors themselves! The noise will be greatly reduced when it is slotted into the guitar.

4:02 with how Xbox has pushed their need for “officially liscensed” 3rd party stuff, the Xbox guitar most likely would be the more expensive option since it would have to have their proprietary wireless tech.
A “non Xbox” guitar for the ps5/switch/pc it could just have a type c dongle for plug n play. And since the Xbox controller will have to be higher priced, might as well give it wired functionality as enticement.
This is the least- albeit still nefarious, and likely outcome imo. I don’t trust big companies to act admirable anymore lol

Don't worry, I do plan on making mods for the Riffmaster, but it'll most likely be its own specific kit separate from the Guitar Hero kits.

Even with BT5.3 or 5.4, whatever they are on now, 2.4GHz is still less latency.
So when my battery dies I have to take the whole cover off? Kind of a pain in the ass.
Nope it'll charge via the USB-C port is what it looks like.
Any updates on stock Xbox 360 compatibility?
The Riffmaster only works on PS4/5 and Xbox One/Series, and I am highly doubtful that backwards compatibility will be implemented.

Huge shame to me because, sorry rock band fans, the frets are absolutely clunky as all hell compared to the guitar hero frets. Everything else about this is amazing though 🎉😂
Xbox wont need a dongle imo. Usually any wireless controller and even headsets connect to their 2.4ghz proprietary connection. The dongle is likely included because the guitars will be cross platform, and PS needs the dongles
I hope they're cross compatible, but the guitar themselves having separate Xbox and PlayStation labels has me a bit concerned.
We'll need to wait and see!
GH Live Xbox One guitars needed an Xbox One dongle. It seems to be the case again. I hope if it is the case that it works like GH Live guitars where the guitar is universal and the dongle is what determines what console it works on.
The Jag and Strat on PS4 connected via Bluetooth and didn’t need a dongle. PS5 Controllers connect via a USB C connection and can recieve updates that way too. Wondering if this guitar will function the same on PS5
That guitar is extremely underwhelming after seeing all the guitars the community makes lol. Hopefully hyperkin cam step up and do better

Sameee, I'd rather have a wired guitar that has a good connection than a wireless guitar with connection problems.
The USB-C port on the mainboard does break out the data pins, so plugging it in should make it "wired".
@@retrocultmods It will prob have some wired system, since apperantly the battery is non removeable, so it's gonna be chargeable at some parts.
