I have watched many tutorials on refractions. Your video was the BEST especially with showing refining cylinder axis which was never explained clearly. Thank you!
Excellent tutorial! My one problem is when you're starting with 0 cyl. I am not familiar with "fishing for cyl" and do not know how to refract with that kind of starting point.
you just put the jcc so that power is at 90/180 and ask what is better. then at 45/135 and ask again. if the patient prefers any position then they probably have cyl around that axis. so you can now insert -0.5 cyl and start refining axis and power
This has confused me... Other tutorials say that when in minus cyl, you "chase" the white dots to configure axis.... you said, chase the red dots.... very diametrically opposite... So which is it?
U see that the cylinder value in this phoroptor is red so u chase the red dot if the cylinder value is in black u chase the white dot ! In this video this phoroptor use a minus cyl so he will chase the red dot

Thank you!
I recenlty started refracting at my job and this video helped a lot, you make it so simple. Thank You for taking the time to do this.
How would you go about getting a subjective refractive without an auto refraction?
I check every day.
Back to 20/20.
Amazing ! Thank you .
Thank you Ryan your explanation is very clear .
Great Video !!
Thank you, you cleared everything for me

Easy and simple
Thank you thank you thank you!!!
Difference between plus and minus in regards to cylinder?

I hope you don't watch this video, this person should find another job
