I've done the same in randbats oncd with feraligatr, was fishing for drops with liquadition against a quagsire, then after about the 6th one I realised 😂😂😂
@SizzlingSausag3 2 stages is 2x but 1 stage is 1.5x and scarf is 1.5x and you multiply those together rather than adding the 2 .5xs which yields 2.25x. Scarf +n stat stages is faster than n+1 Stat stages for this reason.
@@SizzlingSausag3Scarf is 1.5x iirc but I think it applies after speed boosts, so the 1.5x speed boost (from the stat, not scarf) applies and only then the scarf applies, so it multiplies the 150% speed after the regular speed boost and it ends up at 225% buuut take it with a grain of salt since maybe I'm remembering the interaction wrong

I could be wrong, but I think any pokemon that carries trick room is minimum speed in randbats. If so, Swalot would have outsped Malamar even if it didn't go for trick room.

I've recently started playing random doubles, because I was just a bit tired of regulation G, and bumbled my way up to 1700 without much of a clue how stuff works. Seeing someone actually put thought and reasoning behind the play is actually really neat, I can learn a lot
16:22 it wasn't a speed tie. 1.5x from chioce scarf plus the 1.5x on the ditto makes 2.25x, which is more than the 2x speed on the solgaleo, so you always outspeed anyway.

16:20 is not a speed tie... Ditto is +1 and scarf... That is speed*1.5(from boost)*1.5(from scarf)=speed*2.25 compared to solgaleo's speed*2
