I love how this was put together. A lot of random bullshit thrown together and *presented* in such a way as to convince the onlooker of something which is absolutely false. The reason I like this so much - is that while this was a harmless meme: this is quite legitimately how most of the main stream news works today. They take random, disconnected things, much of which is completely unrelated, and use those fragments with proper framing to present their viewers with an utterly fabricated version of reality which is designed to convince the audience of something which isn't even remotely factual.

That's not a fair conclusion. Pepe has been used in 4chan years before twitch even became a site. It's most relevant use as something related to politics was also in 4chan whether its /b/ or /pol/, and while the use isn't exclusively in an "alt right" or racist context, no one with a brain can deny 4chan and those boards specifically are predominantly racist.
