@@stevenstacey7532 Luke is a beast but I wouldn’t say he’d dominate. He’d do well I’m sure. And I do think Luke is probably one of the best drift drivers on the planet. It’s just the fact is competition on pro level isn’t the same. He’s probably a better driver then most of them but he doesn’t have that pro formula driving experience and the car made for his style. A lot of formula drivers would probably be even better in a chassis they prefer but you gotta take what you can get. James for example is insane but he’s not driving the mustang as well as his previous cars.

RTR displayed why they're the pinnacle of this sport last year. With the lessons learned, I think it'll be another outrageously dominated season. Definitely ginna miss Chelsea's driving style but I think Ben is the best possible trade off.
I agree. Chelsea’s style is unique and unmatched, but what’s even crazier is I saw aspects of it in Ben’s driving, and that was in pro spec. I’m used to seeing Spec drivers struggle and even many pro drivers have not fully developed their own style. So Ben is already ahead of the curve in many aspects.

If he had a pro team behind him he would 💯 be a title contender from year 1. At least get him over for some one-off rounds. Still congrats to Ben. I watched him and he was good. Pro is another level though. I'm sure with Vaughan as a leader he will thrive.
Yes we all would have liked to see Luke get the car and seat but let's be stoked for Ben as well Vaughn wouldn't have picked him if he wasn't a good choice.. so if it's good enough for Vaughn it's good enough for me

Luke would have been AMAZING but having to quickly move his Family and Life here in Australia would be a HUGE decision and perhaps played a role
He's talked about it heaps on his channel over the last few years as to whether or not to totally move to the US with young Kids and what thatd mean for them long term, so I totally get Lukes position
Having said that, looking forward to seeing what Ben can do with RTR!!!

Really feel like you should have got luke fink in, 100% an under rated driver who puts in 100% , but i assume theres more to it than just driving unfortunatly. Marketing, sponsers, social media reaches and connections. Such a shame to let that opportunity go to give an underdog a real shot

If Ben gets the Vaughn Gittin JR approval, then he's definitely got mine. Vaughn, much like chelsea is sorta the gauge for how good a driver is., in my opinion. I havent seen Ben is the only one of the guys who had the opportunity to fill the seat at RTR who I havent seen drive. Looking forward to it for sure.

I like Ben.. No Disrespect at all. But was really really wishing it was going to be Luke Fink. How cool would that have been in FD next year. Luke vs Dean.. Luke vs Field.. the list goes on. Plus his send it style fits right into Chelseas shoes... The dude deserves a chance. Consider something for him.. Add another driver or something.
Hobson was the reason I watched Pro Spec, hyped that he's in the pro series this year and will make a great addition to the RTR team!

Disappointed about Luke not getting a chance to show what hes really got in FD with a AWESOME team but if Hobson can lay down some heaters then oh well !

Luke is an incredible driver, but he has some things going against him…
1) RTR already has 1 international driver, and good help something crazy happened where the entire world shut down and travel was prohibited. RTR would be driverless for a season.
2) Luke has a bit of an ego and brashness similar to the way Chelsea and Matt Field do. He’s earned it, but it doesn’t exactly help his marketability which is critical to the RTR race program. It’s well known Chelsea *loathed* the promotional “company man” stuff and I’m willing to bet it was a point of contention between he and Vaughn. Can’t imagine Luke would be much different.
3) Modern FD is *way* different than other drift series, especially internationally. Some FD tracks have only 3 outer zones, the zones are massively long, the speeds are way higher and 1000hp is almost mandatory. Luke needs to wet his feet in Pro 2 for a year before being tossed the keys to a car for FD’s biggest team.
I kinda doubt Luke is willing to do the things he’d need to do to land a spot on RTR. They already have a proven world class talent in James Deane. And now RTR has a promising rising talent that can (hopefully) become the future of the brand’s identity.
@@ChuckThree 1000hp is not "mandatory" not even slightly. In fact its almost irrelevant what power you make past say 850hp, the only thing that actually matters is how well you can optimize your setup and driving to get the most grip out of the tyre. I think Luke proved this pretty clearly when he pushed Darren kelly's r35 pro car around the track in a 300hp r32 skyline that was knocking and running on 5 cylinders during D1NZ.
Secondly "long outer zones" are NOT unique to America.. Europe, NZ and Australia collectively have a plethora of series that run tracks that utilize long zones, some of which are probably a lot longer than anything FD has. Lastly let's not forget the time that Luke went to IDC and made a mockery of the top drivers from Ireland.

Love that your giving him a shot at it. I believe he won’t let anyone down and he will have a lot of fun doing it. Luke fink would have been great too but it might have been an expensive season with repairs with his no fear driving 🤣. But most importantly. How do you only have 154k subscribers. Learned to drift in the same spot as ben. Slid with him on a few occasions. Even sold him 2 s14s and an s13 2 years ago.

I am really happy for him, and I have a good feeling he's going to get comfortable real quick. Basically, his limitations for success is having a professional team, and i believe this season RTR is going to deliver like never before..

i remember seeing hobson in the pink s14 and i said he have a lot of style and potential but i think the car is holding him up, the year after i saw he sign with odi and i was happy af cause odi is a S chassis god, im really happy about the new team!
