- Tutorial 7 In this tutorial we show you the other way how you can crochet a puffy little round element. You can use this element like button or as decoration for any other piece of work. To make this crochet button we work couple of rounds of long single crochet stitches and reverse single crochet trim. Steel Crochet Hook size 2mm or 2.25mm or 3.00 (#4 or #2 US standards) and yarn: 31% Lurex, 69% Polyester, 190m in 100g.

So beautiful. These buttons made with a small hook would make small buttons for baby booties and baby knitwear. I think I have fallen in love with these buttons. Plastic and metal buttons would injure and hurt my grandson, just one year now, so I have decided to make buttons SHERU's way. No more anxiety of the baby munching on the buttons. THUMBS UP. Hooray! I was able to create a lovely light pink button thanks to this tutorial! Thank you!
BTW, I had difficulty using bulky #5 yarn, but after several attempts, I realized that I only needed to wrap my (fine point permanent marker) 8 times with bulky yarn. Also, I only needed to crochet one round to achieve the desired "flower puff".
[Note: I plan to attach the puff button to the lovely short "scoodie" I loom knitted. Because the scoodie yarn is so bulky, I will be sewing the puff button on the right side of scoodie, placing a smaller plastic button on the wrong side of scoodie (beneath the crochet puff button) for ease of use.]
