I love those 73 Evinrude graphics. It is refreshing to see a video of someone that knows how to trim the engine properly!

Beautiful rig. There is just something about those old StarCrafts…..I have a Duranautic 16 with a side console but it’s no where near as pretty.

Yeah duranatics are rare I love the old startcrafts and I’m putting a 75hp on my rig

I just got the same engine you have here (1973 Evinrude 50HP Lark) on a decent pontoon boat. It does not appear to have a tell-tale for the water pump. How do you know if the water pump is working (besides melting your wiring, engine, lol)? Please let me know and thanks.

These motors have two relief exhaust ports on the back of the motor. Once these motors get up temp the motor should pump water out of those ports. At idle it will be more of a mist.

@@omcoutboardboy4421 Thanks, just wondering cause I have a 16ft Starcraft SSV center console. It came with a 35 HP Merc from the previous owner. It does not want to plane even with minimum weight. Top speed is only 12-15 MPH with 3 people. Thats why i was asking if you guys new what the original HP was on these boats. I got some insight from the prop shop i mentioned,he noticed in a pick that my cav plate is about a inch below the keel at the transom. Im looking to get it to be able to cruise at about 20-22mph and top out at about 30mph if i can. Im not sure how much the cav plate issue will affect it if the engine is raised up. Thanks for the help!
