Mate, I have been trying to find their live set from Spendour 2016. I know it was definitely broadcast cos I listened to the whole thing in the car when it played, if you could find it and upload that it would be absolutely phenomenal. I just remember Velvet Skies was so good as Dizza did all of Lyall's parts and it was so cool. But yeah if you could have a look around for it that'd be sick, cheers.
Yeah it was played on triple j but never posted online sadly (I've looked for it before). Sometime last year I asked triple j/Richard Kingsmill if it would ever be rebroadcasted or posted online but got no response unfortunately. I would love to hear it and upload it if someone has it and sends it to me.

They're on indefinite hiatus (taking a break for however long they need, if you don't know what that means) after touring constantly for years and for the singer Dylan to recover from some big issues.

I just realized how this song caress your soul sounds like it’s being sung by an abusive murdering partner. The screams of domestic abuse and it kind of freaks me out a little bit. I wonder if it’s the kind of song that you write putting yourself in someone else’s shoes, did that come from someone’s (Dizza’s) heart?
Maybe from one angle, but from another angle I think they are conveying a message of the wisdom they gained from a dating situation. Also, I read Paddy did a lot of writing with that chorus and song so maybe it was his relationship? Before recording it, they played it live and the lyrics were actually a little different and the meaning/perspective may have changed a bit with the lyrics 🤷 there are probably a few different ways to look at the lyrics of this song though!
