The name of the franchise is based off of one of the textbooks in Harry Potter. You might remember in prisoner of Azkaban that there was a book that looked alive and that book was written by newt. It is also the textbook for Hagrid teaches with buckbeat (Care of Magical Creatures). Also newt has a cameo in prisoner of Azkaban his name is on the marauder's map when harry first opens it.

There's like more than 5 magical schools: Hogwarts(Harry etc),Durmstrum(Victor Krum/Grindlewald),Beaubatin Flore the one that married Bill Weasley(it's French I don't remember it's correct spelling)there's supposed to be in New york(I'll come back and comment on it)and the mystery one in the next movie with Grindlewald(I'll comment on the next upload video for that one too)
This movie is just an introduction to the characters, not that much of a story tbh. Crimes of Grindelwald is when the story really picks up. Welcome back 😊
Newt Scamander is actually Luna Lovegood’s father in law! Him and Tina had a son named Rolf Scamander who married Luna Lovegood and she gave birth to two twin boys named Lorcan and Lysander.
It definitely focuses on world-building in the first film, a new location, a new decade, new laws to give us some background. I think it also featured the creatures so much as a part of Newts character, he's the author of the school book 'Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" that they use in Hogwarts and his obsession with helping creatures is vaguely mentioned as the reason he gets expelled. In terms of the obscuriels a.k.a Credence, it's pretty much the uncontrollable magic of witches and wizards who suppress their abilities for fear of persecution etc That's why it lashes out because they've never learned how to control it, the reveal that it was Credence was also supposed to be surprising because the obscuriel (black mist magic lol) normally kills its hosts at a young age which Credence clearly outlived. There's also hella wizarding schools; Hogwarts (Scotland), Beauxbaton (France), Durmstrang (Scandinavia), Ilvermorny (America), Castelobruxo (Brazil), Mahoutokoro (Japan), Uagadou (Uganda), Koldovstoretz (Russia) + 3 more unnamed schools. Also totally agree that Jacob is the best, I think it's clever to have a muggle (I shall never call them No-Maj) character experiencing the creatures and magic for the first time, almost mimicks the audience because they introduce so many new things. Damn that was loooong, loved the reaction though xx
