  • How does the entire globe dealing with a pandemic look from a mental health perspective?
It's clear to see that in 2021, a year later, Covid-19 is still very much affecting us.
Some people are changing with the time, some people are resisting that change, but everyone is affected in some way!
I believe that almost everyone must be facing an impact to their mental health. It's hard not to resist depression, anxiety, and paranoia with life upheaval such as this. As a diagnosed schizophrenic, I knew about these things in my lived experience, already. Now those symptoms are agitated more than before, and I also see them affecting many more people now than just people with existing diagnosis.
What are those effects on mental wellbeing of the novel coronavirus? That's what I discuss in this video. Thanks for watching.

You are so right about the sharp decline in quality of health care. People are dying from lack of treatment for many diseases.

All I can hope is that mass vaccination has an adequate effect on slowing transmission. If it does what the WHO hopes, then I hope other diseases will become a focus again, and people will stop falling through the cracks.

So sorry that you're having such a hard time, both during and before Covid. I've seen a few people get depressed, but it was only temporary. Most of my 'group' is older and retired so it really isn't all that different for us- especially those that are retired. For myself, things are pretty much the same except that all my volunteer work is online instead of in person. I'm pretty busy so maybe that's a reason that I feel OK.
Take care everyone reading this. It WILL come to an end so hang in there.

Thank you for the comment, Stephen. I also feel busy and less affected. Luckily I have some additional income (work at home) that did not go away through the pandemic, so I count myself lucky. The suffering of people varies a lot, and I hope or suspect that it will change inevitably for the better. I just hope it gets easier sooner and not much harder.
