For a long time, I’ve been looking for an ACTUAL survival mod, where enemies don’t just blandly stand around in the distance. This looks great! I like the concept of mob broken blocks reappearing after some time.

Some custom invasions I can think of:
"The legion of the lost is looking to conscript more people for their army." - Skeletons, Strays, and Wither Skeletons. Some, but not all Wither Skeletons can be armed with bows. Inversely, some but not all Skeletons and Strays can be armed with swords. There will also be numerous miner variants of the above.
"The animals of pasts slain now desire their revenge." - Zombie Pigmen and Pigman miners. If Advent of Ascension (AKA, Nevermine) is loaded, Skeletal Cowmen may also join this invasion.
"Things from the future come to rewrite the past without your existence." - Phantoms, Pillagers, and Piglins/Piglin Miners. I believe there are mods that backport mobs from after 1.12 somewhere.
"Death from above and below." - Ghasts, Zephyrs, Cockatrices, and Endermen. Requires the Aether mod to be loaded.
"Knowledge is power. But is it more powerful than you?" - Wizards, Blazes, Lightning Wraiths, Ice Wraiths, Cave Spiders, Husks, and Wither Skeletons. Requires ElectroBlob's Wizardry.
"Birds of a feather flock together against you." - Chickens, Cockatrices, Moas, and Valkyries. Requires the Aether mod to be loaded. If there is indeed a mod to backport mobs from after 1.12, add Phantoms to this.
"The world's population has united against a common enemy: You." - Witches, Vindicators, Evokers, Illusioners, and Villager miners. If a mod to backport mobs from after 1.12 exists, add Pillagers, Ravagers, and Wandering Traders. Trader Llamas are optional.
"Rise of the vermin." - Endermites, Silverfish, and Bats. Optionally also add Baby Zombies and Baby Husks. If a mod to backport mobs from after 1.12 exists, add Baby Drowned, too. Silverfish AI is modified to infest and break any block in their way to players. As is typical for invasions, these blocks re-appear shortly after.
"The following invasion is sponsored by Michael Bay." - Creepers. 5% of them generate supercharged. If Advent of Ascension (AKA Nevermine) is loaded, add Tricksters and Hunters too. If Primitive Mobs is loaded, add Festive Creepers, Rocket Creepers, and Support Creepers.
"The Red Pool has shown great disdain for you tonight." - A bunch of mobs from SCP-354. Requires SCP: Lockdown to be loaded. If SCP-354 is near to the player's location, the mobs will appear outside of its containment chamber and path towards the player, otherwise they will generate headed to the player's base as usual.

If Mutant Creatures is enabled, add Mutant Endermen. Water is somewhat ineffective, and the ender dragon can generate End Crystals around your base.

I like the idea of having to deal with mobs that use different and sometimes amusing strategies to kill you. Such as jumping into your walled base, destroying your barricades to help out the melee troops and climbing on top of each other to form a living ladder.

This mod is really challenging. Me and my friends even made some custom ones. Here are some examples of the madness we brought upon ourselves:
"Their feathers are sharp as steel" (Stymphalian birds from Ice and Fire)
"If infinite knowledge is what you seek, then we shall grant your wish" (Killer books from Twilight forest and Primitive Mobs)
"Murder... Ne- ver...Moooreee." (Ravens from Undead rising and Twilight forest)
"Fairies arrived, to free their imprisoned sisters!" (Fairies from Ice and Fire)
"This is a staring contest that you will never win!" (Cockatrices and Gorgons from Ice and Fire)
"It's 4:20, you know what that means!" (Blazes)
"No more trolling!" (Forest and Cave trolls from Ice and Fire, Trollagers from Primitive Mobs)
And that's not even 1/4 of the stuff we created to make us suffer.

Scape and run: parasites:
Invasion warning: the parasites have infected alot of mobs and they feel strong enough to fight!
Parasite invasion 1: rupters and infected

They will spawn only Zombie and started with meteor hitting random place and created a domain ground for invader. They spawn once per night and become stronger as day pass. Only way to stop invader is to go into their own world and defeat the boss inside. Then new invader will come
That was in 1.6.4, in 1.7.10 you just have to get the particle globe and break the portal on the temple, then the process repeats.

Heres my idea for an invasion: the neather attacks! It whould have a temporary neather portal build and have piglins hoglins blazes and wither skelitens poor out all night.
The mod is on 1.12.2, not 1.16+. So no Piglins/Hoglins.
Criminally underrated channel
You know this mod is really similar to a mod called the invasion mod. The lobscast did a showcase way back you should check. I wish it still had mod support because you could pair it up with something like the ancient warfare mod. Also check that one out.

It doesnt seem like this one has that feature sadly, but the old invasion mod had builders actually construct paths to your base to break bases that are constructed in the sky or surrounded with lava.

Nvm I don’t know how to do it thought it would just be on mod options configurable
I wish you get some loots by surviving invasions. For example,
if you survive attack of the :
Animals : you get more foods
Zombies : armors / short range weapons
Skeletons : long range weapons
Villagers : bodyguard iron golems / village hero effect
Pillagers : Random tool (like trident, shield, totem of undying, ender pearl)
Random monsters: important resources (like string, hard blocks, ores)
Everybody gangsters until the Horse attack.
I can see potential in this, if other mods' mobs can be used. Like goblins from Grimoire of Gaia, or Trollagers from Primitive mobs, or worse, the blue and red creepers from Primitive mobs. Lastly, trolls and Cyclops from Ice&Fire and evil wizards from Electroblob. If you can configure the mod to not exaggerate too much of the tougher mobs, I can definitely see this being fun, but also challenging. Would also work nicely with a mod like Ancient Warfare2 that lets you create your own troops, melee and Archers, medic and Commander

I wonder how far customization can be taken with this one. I'd love to see a little something like this - a special invasion consisting of a few certain mobs, and then upon completing it a boss mob tied to the other mobs you just fought invades next while their minions continue spawning to join in (but at a much slower rate). The objective is simple - kill the boss to end the invasion (say for example with mods installed, a Twilight Lich spawns after a special wave of mobs such as his Zombie Minions, Skeleton Warriors, Death Tomes and the occasional Scarecrow).
The chance of a "special" invasion would increase slightly every time you survive an invasion, but decrease if you skip one and reset entirely if you die during one or face one of said special invasions. Clear one and you could get some nice stuff.
You can configure the mod to spawn a certain amount of X mobs so you could make an invasion that say, consists of a guaranteed boss mob and lots of other regular mobs. But you can't configure it to end by slaying the boss thus ending the "minions".

I very appreciate, that you said about custom invasions, i was looking for an invasion mod with customizing option, and i found it. I like this type of reviews, when youtuber goes even over config options.

So now I have a use for all the soldiers and war machines on ancient warfare 2.

If this gets updated to newer versions, I would love to see Phantom invasions, Bee invasions, Zombified Piglin invasions, and Zoglin invasions. (I came up with this for fun)
idea: Piglins would track you on the Nether just to invade you
A very informative showcase even if there was no quirky voice overs like I'm used to with other showcases.
