US Maryland officials announce major step in restoring Baltimore Bridge

US officials from Maryland have announced a major step in the restoration of the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore.
US Officials announced progress on restoring commerce to the Port of Baltimore, by opening a channel to operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
An investigation into the cause of the collision is ongoing as the cargo ship which struck the bridge undergoes temporary repairs.

Honestly, for any major transportation project in Maryland, take the first initial estimate, then add five years of construction delays, and a billion dollars of cost overruns, and you'll be closer to the actual cost and timeline.
And if you think I'm exaggerating, that's exactly what happened to the Silver Spring Transit Center, and what's currently happening to the Purple Line, which was supposed to open in 2022, and now might open in 2027, maybe.
