  • Does sprocket size and gearing make a difference in top speed on your pit bike? Watch this video to find out how fast a stock ssr 125cc automatic pit bike is vs a 16 tooth front sprocket. We do a top speed test with 2 identical pit bikes, 1 with a 14 tooth front sprocket and 1 with a 16 tooth front sprocket. Which one is faster? How many mph do they hit?

You can get fifty out of the automatics but you have to mess w upjetting and tune the clutch

It is crazy how much slower the automatics are than the manuals. Mine can easily go 45-50mph any day.

I was thinking exactly the same... Also it seem that my 125 has a lot more power that these automatic ones... Maybe the automatic shifter puts more stress to the motor?

My 110 Tao hits 45-50 all you need is premium gas, upgraded filter and carb, 16 or 17 tooth sprocket and a racing cdi
Seen some guy put a semi auto 140cc piranha motor with the same mods and a fmf pipe in a little 110 db14 frame. That mf was moving for having a 200lb dude on it
A lot of these china autos will hit 45-50 with some modding there’s a bunch of top speed vids where people are hitting 45 consistently in Chinese 110s I agree tho manual are better for performance they have a better powerband

@@xmatthewlive6542 Mine does have a carb upgrade when I purchased it. It is the horrible 26 nibbi. Horrible to get it running correctly. I am definitely going to pry ending up purchasing a different carb

@@ryanscott1989 on mine i did the opposite, I installed a 24 mikuni carb instead of the original 26 carb. If has better performance at low rpm Wich is good for me since is an enduro pibike. The original 26 gave me problems because at WOT at low rpm because it would stall... Also, mikuni carbs are great.

Running pretty good for it being that it still has stock carburetor?

Did you test with a manual bikes? Like you said this test doesn't help much size the auto box is slow and not meant to be changed unless tuned.

@@bearkreekboys true true me for what I want is more power torque gets you out harry situations me personally or worried about making faster these are not meant hot huge double triples so no need for speed even then it comes to torque to get up over jumps and if trail riding want torque as well get up rocks and climbs unless you building a drag bike for top speed I wouldn’t do it if I want go fast I’ll pull out 250 or street bike that’s just me! But overall great video!!
