I’m sitting on my porch smoking a cigar and feeling stressed about the craziness in our country right now, and I stumble across this channel. I finish the first video, immediately subscribe, and look at a second video. I give it a thumbs up and then, after another puff on my cigar, realize that I have completely forgotten that I was stressed 20 minutes ago. This country needs a lot more people with this laid back view of life. Thank you sir for saving part of my afternoon, and more in the future. Now, I will slowly finish my cigar

What's your favorite cigar to smoke David?

  • @amwestconsultingservices9200

I worked in Iraq for 6 years during the war as a contractor and continued my work in Afghanistan for another 12 years till it ended. Everywhere I traveled, I brought some cigars with me. After a long stressful day, I and my fellow contractors would sit around a picnic table and smoke cigars and talk about our day, talk about home, talk about anything.. it gave us a chance to wind down. I am still living and working in the Middle East and once a week I and my buddies get together and have a nice Dominican or Cuban cigar and catch up. Smoking cigars is more than just smoking.. it's a "moment" that only those who have experienced it can understand.

We would smoke a good cigar after been out in the field when we can. I took a bunch with me, naturally they didnt last very long. I like this guy alot, i am retired now and i just like to ride horses and smoke good cigars. anyway i thought i would say hello, i dont hear from contractors alot on here.

I am Canadian, I don’t smoke cigars and I don’t have horses but I got snagged and can’t stop listening to this amazing soul of a cowboy. I don’t even really know how I found him and his channel. I think CZcams put him in my feed because I was researching anything I could fond about border collies and stick dogs. I thought o was going to hear something new about border collies and I get an amazing talk about the world at large and how you can’t change a donkey because it’s in his nature. Now I’m hooked! I even share a few talks on my fb page. I don’t usually get any response and my followers probably think I’ve finally gone mad, lol! I lost my wife last Aug to cancer and with her health decline I lost just a about everything I owned. I now am living in a trailer on a little piece of land trying to prepare for the harsh winters that we get here in Ontario just below Algonquin park. I find that listening to one of these talks each morning to start my day while I roast and drink my coffee is so very grounding and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Thank you for being you in the world and thank you for sharing your wisdom. It has helped me quite a lot!🙏😊

I had a friend who had a relative from Cuba coming for a visit and he brought me a box of Partagus cigars from Havana. They were incredible. I got them for $100 for the box. They were so soft and moist. Wish I could get another box.

Sitting on my patio smoking a Gurkha which I find a bit spicy for my usual taste, but very enjoyable. While I have my own supply, my brother in law gave me this one as a gift. A true gift because it gives me a nice little break from a diy project of mine. What I’m trying to say is that your video is so very timely! Thank you Duane!

Thanks for sharing your videos and keep them coming please. I miss the days when new fathers passed out cigars that they bought at the hospital gift shop!!! I haven’t been to a hospital gift shop in years but I bet you couldn’t even buy a cigar in one. They were usually overly dry swisher sweets but we would smoke them like it was a good cigar!!

Great episode. Most of my favorite cigars range between $7 - $12 per stick. I tried a $25 cigar or two and they taste like dog turd to me, but to each their own. It’s the same thing with beer, wine or liquor, more expensive doesn’t always mean better.

I concluded this after smoking the Oliva Serie G. It was my ‘holy cow’ moment, getting all of these different flavor combinations than I would have ever looked-for or expected (probably via the Cameroon wrapper). And when you see the price, and then you hear a shop owner confirm a lot of smokers don’t prefer the flavor of the G, I knew I found my favorite stick.
Sure, there are far more complex and fuller-bodies cigars out there, but those are for different occasions. I like the idea of enjoying something that just ‘works’ and doesn’t always demand your full attention. Like good people. 😂

Drew Estate Diesel Unholy Cocktail is one of my budget favorites. I like full-bodied bold cigars and not only does it meet that, but it's a Belicosa with a large ring - another favorite. I buy them on auction for less than $4 each (more often $3.50 ea) and they please me more than some of the 2 dozen other brands I rotate in my box consistently. I buy mixer 5 packs a lot just so I don't have to commit and get to experiment. I support your statement - big money cigars aren't always better cigars - to you.
