Overview: today we venture back to a recently dead mall: Newburgh mall: Now with the casino and new stores added this mall seems to be doing better. “Seems” only a couple months ago when the casino opened this place was busy! Now there’s barley anyone here! A lot of “space holders” were put in place in dead stores to fill up space. However there is a new addition of a casino and cafe!
History: Newburgh Mall is a regional shopping center located on NY 300 in the Town of Newburgh, New York, near where Interstate 87 intersects with Interstate 84.

Lot of memories at each entrance. Now Office Depot is leaving pretty soon, by the end of this month I think. They’re apparently planning something for that whole side of the mall since it’ll be completely emptied out but I have no idea what it’ll be.
Agreed. I heard they want to make it like a strip mall, the casino be the big attraction.
It was sad to see GameStop shut down then FYE as well.

When I went to New York nothing was in the Newburgh mall everything was shut down except for the pizza place

MOVED TO NEWBURGH 1984...WATCHED THE DAMN DEMONS TURN THE CITY INTO WHAT IT IS TODAY. PROGRESSIVE / DEMONRATS IS ALL THEY CAN CREATE. POOR, RUIN, MORE POOR, MORE RUIN. GOT THE HELL OUT 2007....SAD TO THINK THIS CITY WAS , ONCE, THE NUMBER ONE CITY IN THE COUNTRY. READERS DIGEST. TALKED WITH A LADY, 1987 ABOUT THE CITY. SHE MOVED TO NEWBURGH 1937. LIVED IN THE SAME APARTMENT NEAR LIBERTY AND SOUTH. SHE SAW ALOT OF CHANGE.
