I see some of these u tube truckers that have been trucking for 15 minutes and couldn't drive a stake in a hogs a$$ ! And they've got 150k subs ? Come on people Kurt deserves more subs. Go ahead hit like and then subscribe. That is all. Lol. U hang in there
Love seeing Opie, he keeps you company and in line! Sometimes his expression cracks me up and other times he looks at you like you're his world! First class sounds good! Stay safe out there!
I take enough pills I rattle when I walk. I would love to see your dad's tractors. I have that old iron disease too. I have a 1928 Rumley X 25-40. I love old buildings. My husband and I are saving one of our downtown buildings built in 1852. Thank you for sharing all of those wonderful towns and an awesome ride. Safe travels and God bless.
When my dad worked for Graves Truck line his run was from k.c. Kansas to Great Bend & Dodge City 2 times a week and then sometime they added a Junction City Manhattan turn in the same week. That was in the late 50s,60s and early 70s.
I drive a desk for work every day and have no regrets on my career decision, but man, today's video and that POV video had me wanting to throw it all away and go buy a truck.
I feel you when you said you can tell when you miss a day. I'm a type 2 diabetic and I have meds that I have to take three times a day. I can tell when I miss a dose. When I do it takes half a day or longer to get it back in my system and I'm miserable until it kicks back it. You and Opie stay safe. Give him a belly rub. Oh. How's the merchandise coming. We want to show folks who we follow.
Looking forward to seeing your dad's old tractors. I grew up in Illinois out in the country right along I 80 when it was being built. Always made sure I had a window seat in school so I could watch all the trucks and tractors 😂! That's how my illustrious 50 yr career began and I wouldn't change a thing. I'm retired now but still do a little trucking and farming on the side. You and Opie stay safe and keep the great videos coming! God bless 👍
I really enjoyed the back roads of Indiana. The county court houses always amazed me. I don't believe they could be built today. The skilled old time stone masons are all gone and the cost would be thru the roof. Life in the USA 100 years ago was different than now, maybe better, maybe worst, but we are stuck at where we are.
I use to tell my Pug, Joey Bear, "This is a Walk, Not, a Stand"! Lol! Rest His Little Soul! But man, when U just told Opie "I'm just a little Cold.... etc" Lol! Hilarious! Needed a Good Laugh! Thanks Schmidt! :)
I want to see your father's collection of antique tractors only if they are John Deere tractors. If it ain't green it's just a dream. Real tractors are green.
When you went thru Ellsworth that building you thought was the courthouse is actually the old hospital. They're trying to get it as a historical building. Have a safe trip.
When ever I hear Omaha, I think of this.... Omaha?!, Well they oughta know what to do with them hogs out there fer sure Well mercy sakes alive good buddy We gonna back on outta here So keep the bugs off yer glass An' the bears off yer... tail 10-4...LOL Great video brother.. Hi Pop, God Bless you and your family Kurt. Truck easy Big AL
Lol Lmao I do The Same Thing With The Dome Light at Night time.....I'll Flip it on & Ride like that for an hour or Two like u stated.....Ten Roger four
when the railroads were being built in the mid to late 1800s, the Government gave land grants to them within 5-10 miles away from the rail lines in order to help develop the Western states. As a result, towns generally were built 7-10 miles apart, keeping the distance down that farmers had to travel to bring their grain or lumber to the railroad station. I'm sure it's a lot more detailed than that, but gives you a good basic idea of how it worked. Keep up the good work and safe travels.
I know its a pain but good to see you going through all the little towns. I soon will be moving to a town 50 miles west of Salina so maybe will catch you going through. Really enjoyed the video and your personal touch to it. Y;all be safe and havagudun Kurt and Opie.
Another comment further into the video. Lol. That building in Larned was damaged I'm the wind couple months ago. Just saw news article about it. Was the town playhouse built in 1887 or something. I agree those old buildings are really cool
Yup still here LOL sleet all day down here. in Oklahoma lighting and thunder snow today Friday.. it was Sun shine today high 33 degree melt very little if the ice just made it. Like slippery. Hope tomarrow is better and warmer..
It's been cold all over , I know what you mean cold coming in truck , that's only thing I didn't like about w 900 it was new too ,but it was cold sleeper had cold air coming in somewhere had to turn heaters on high always, I know peterbilts not cold like that , but try stay warm and keep that dog warm , take care and careful
490 miles EB n down Old Iron, It’s about the Hunt!!!! The buy is the let down. Peterbuilt of Great Bend Good job Nebraska DOT Reefer fuel issues if not maintained Drive safe Opie
Hi Kurt I have been to the kinsley Kansas rest spot where the train was. It had a sign that said midway USA from san Francisco to New York. I was there in 2013 from Australia. Keep up the great videos.👍
I keep my interior lights as dim as I can. I’m not a fan of the inside being light up. The darker the better. Exterior light, the more the better!! Great video Kurt. Hi Opie.
I always kept red lights on inside my cab at night as they improve night vision and do not cause any issues inside the cab. Pilots in the Cockpits have been using red lights for decades to prevent night blindness..
@@Leveraction-xr4uz red lights do not improve night vision, They just lessen the loss of night vision as compared to a white light. You still lose vision, even with red.
Like old tractors and old trucks myself too. Old people pill containers are the way to keep organized. Have one myself. Have pills for arthritis I take everyday if I miss one day I know I missed a day. Stay safe and warm. Opie really likes his food. I like the looks he gives you makes me laugh.
Canned dog food - I use the "stew" version. It has gravy and chunks of meat - is easily mixed in with the dry food. Purina makes some reasonably priced called High Protein. My guys love it.
Buy Dynamat! It's thicker and sticks harder! Hushmat is thin and doesn't have as good sound or thermal insulation capability.... Do your entire cab and sleeper from floor to roof! They even have floor specific insulation and I also believe dynamat has firewall insulation too. I also recommend getting all of your windows and windshield retinted with a UV tint film....
One of the reasons I enjoy your videos is listening to the turbo whistle on your truck takes me back to 1976 when I first learned to drive in a 1973 Pete with a 3406 Cat. Really good memories.
I’ve noticed you say squirrel when you get drawn off you train of thought, I’d guess attention defensivenesses…I’ve got a friend that says the same thing. Really enjoy your videos…hope you have a great day on the road.
56 is flat as all get out. Then when you head N out of great bend 156 gives you a ride! It’s faster anyways to zig zag in Larned anyways! I have family in Great Bend so it’s cool to see it when you go through there.
Well that was different, filming and talking on the road, you don't do that very much is that new? Love dash lights at night pretty cool, you too be careful, truck looking good! 🤗🤗😎😎😅
Great Bend Ks home of Guthrie trailers Pulled a spread axle 53 ft cow pot Loved there self serve wash out killer water presure Been a year or two probably not even there anymore Kansas has alot of truckin history
Hey Kurt n Opie, love seeing the small towns ur driving through n i took notice that's most of the towns have grain bins n rail cars, is that very common in the west? U all stay warm n stay safe n see ya both next time
Hey Kurt and Opie, love your vids beena fan for a while, retired trucker popped some pills way back in the 70's crazy times then anyway you Crack me up Kurt, up first class looks great bud as always see you next time keep truckin up,whoop- whoop!!
W900L doors, when you replace the door seals, also replace the Teflon door-sill tabs. They center the door and extend your door-sill life. God speed and stay safe.
This was one of my favorite videos with you talking and commenting and observing as you drive along. It was just really fun to be in the cab with you. I loved it. Hope you do this more in this style in the future!
That's an amazing run up across Kansas isn't it? My dad bought a brand new John Deere 4040 power shift out of Ellsworth back in the day...one of only 2 new tractors he ever bought. Wish I had it. Back in the day............
You better hit the tires on the sidewall. I hit the tread and the tire was flat. Drove a hundred miles on a flat. Now I thump the tire on the side. I don’t take nothing but coffee and the white colored bottle monster drink. No sugar. Loaded with salt and caffeine. I find I can still sleep drinking that. The salt does make my blood pressure go up and I do get angry at other drivers a lot lol
Its so cool seeing you drive the same roads i drive when im on the road! If you headed east on 56 out of great bend towards McPherson you would pass right by my little town of just over 100 people. Drive safe and god bless!
Hi mate, want to say that this is one of your best videos you've made. Enjoyed the commentary as you drove along. Being from out of town, Australia, haven't seen your beautiful country, and wonderful towns, nor will I ever. Except through Truckers like your self. Have been a subscriber for some 18months,so keep up the great work mate. John, Queensland, Australia.
I have a wabso heater for the bunk and the engine and I really like it in my 1998 kw t800 I use the bunk heater to keep worm even when I am driving when it is really cold the only thing I would do different is get one in the bunk to set timers and Temps kinda like the engine one. I also think in October there is a big sale on them at thermo King up here by Rochester mn
Kurt, wonder if that Brick road was laid by a brick-laying machine. Sadden by the thought of Old buildings being tore down. Here in Upstate New York, they try to turn our factory/ mills into Apartments. We have an Old papermill ( 1920's) in our small town of 436, that " SOME DAY" will be apartments. That " HILL" was really something to go over...lol Goodnight, Stay warm the best you can for now. Looking forward to the next video.

A couple of them are dangerous too. Two weeks of experience and talking and filming away while driving.
Love seeing Opie, he keeps you company and in line! Sometimes his expression cracks me up and other times he looks at you like you're his world! First class sounds good! Stay safe out there!
If your ever near Emporia, Kansas there is a Hostess plant. Just backup to the warehouse door, and load it up with your Zingers! Say safe!
Also a big warehouse just up the road in Edgerton, KS full of all things Hostess destined for stores everywhere.
@Sandy G thanks for the Information!
man those pills kicked in quick 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Ohhhh ok I seen the headline and thought I was back in the 80s 🤣😂🤣😂🤣 along with the "white line" fever 🤣😂🤣😂🤣

I have a old 1952 Farmall Cub that we restored.....great fun, great old little tractor.
Tell opie that's a new popsicle flavor dog food 🤣🤣🤣
How'd you climb that Kansas mountain without an oxygen tank? That was impressive.
Small town America - Love it. Appreciated the town tour today. Most of them are populated by stately silos and sincere citizens.

The deer in the headlight look. Lol
Ps. Am a retired Long Haul Trucker, and love your W900.
I've had years of great hunting through the 156 corridor up 81 and back down 24 to Glen elder.
When you went thru Ellsworth that building you thought was the courthouse is actually the old hospital. They're trying to get it as a historical building. Have a safe trip.
Hope they succeed. It's a great looking building

I drove for 30 years, retired at 51 years old. I always wanted my own “Large Car” and you almost make me want to try and come out of retirement…..
Still love your spirit Kurt, just make it look good, HI opie.
If you're ever back at that truck stop at Spearville get one of their fajita burritos. They are really good
Safe travels Mr SCHIMDT🚛💨💨💨
Don't believe I'm the train Dan but I love trains and drove trucks for 32 years anyway thanks for the occasional train hi to Opie
