Been to several Sapp Brothers truck stops that where incredible, not all. The girl friend came out of the bathroom, "Oh My God" I said what, you ok. She says "no, yes, they have lights in the toilet, bidets, tv in the bathroom, the tile is incredible, it's spotless".

I completely agree about everyone thinking that theses certain purebred dogs 🐕 are the thing that’s cool. During covid was a breeder bank, people bought for company and then the next thing we know, all the shelters were overwhelmed 😮 I still get upset about that. We just inherited from my son a pit bull/terrier mix 1yr old. Where my son lives already had 3 dogs 🐩 and my sons dog kept attacking one of the other dogs 🐕 so yes we have another 15-20yr commitment. I told everyone that I am done no more pets, I can’t take anymore heartache of losing them 😢
But I can’t say no, the dog is well behaved now, I worked hard at that, but there is always something new to teach him ❤🐕😊

Looks like that travel center has a planned enclosed dog park for Opie.
Another thing that might help is stretching out your lower back by crossing your legs and bending down as far as possible for about 20 to 30 seconds then switching your legs around and repeating the process.

Lots of German Shepherd rescues out there, I would just pick one close to home that seems honest. I used to have Germans, not shepherds, but Shorthair Pointers. Love them dogs, 110% crazy or they are sleeping.
For your back/leg nerve pain, look into Benfotiamine (fat soluble B1). Add turmeric to your cold items; salad, cottage cheese, etc. Heat kills the benefits

That was the fanciest (yes fanciest is a word) truck stop I've ever seen! Wow! Biscuits and gravy one of my faves! Have you ever had biscuits with chocolate gravy? Yes it's a thing and yes it's amazing!
Maybe Opie would sit in the front more if he had an addition to the seat like what Trucker Josh made for Diesel? A little extra doggo leg room, something removable so when the wife or kids go trucking with ya it's a normal seat. Lol

Stopped by Marker 126 today. It is casual fancy with the feeling of a coffee shop or bistro, not your typical Pilot or Loves. Like the difference between McDonalds and Panera Bread.
I stand by my earlier comment that the entrance and exit from US 20 is an accident waiting to happen especially when visibility is reduced by rain, fog or snow and the roads are wet or slippery.

With the onset of the unmanned electric trucks of the future, those truck stops will be nothing but a memory. Then the next step will be a mass rebuilding and new construction for the truck stops they thought were not needed when human drivers are put back in the trucks to reclaim their industry. A better place to test the unmanned vehicles would be the railroad, but the union says no!

My Dad attended the National schools of construction in or near Greenfield Indiana back in 1965 when I was born he was correctly instructed in land & site preparation grading the operation of Dozers Backhoes Motor Graders & other Excavation Equipment I personally don’t care for southern Illinois I know you have the Shawnee National Forest and it’s interesting but it’s not me I’m upbeat urban suburban Northwest side of Chicago Harwood Heights Norridge Elmwood Park Franklin Park area Sports cars 70s ish Disco Era John Travolta type guy So many Girl friends I forget their names yeah I know embarrassing just trying to keep the classic 70s gigillo persona going !!!!!ooppps sorry got side tracked there a wee bit Took a mind trip back to a happier place & time
