Very very nice house
It's so homey and has such character. With the roof so high it was wise to add the fire place. Also such a large backyard.
It reminds me of hotels around here in Nanyuki.
The 'exposed roof' I think is called shiplap. Or at least I've heard it called it such.

These types of houses were very common in Nairobi before the 90s. Most were demolished to pave way for apartment blocks. Some still remain in government institutions like the military.
The house is charming and reminds me of my grandmother’s house in our native town. Most of the old houses that remain in our hometown, from the colonial influence of the British and Portuguese occupation, bear a striking resemblance to this one. 😍

Thank you for sharing this truly lovely property. This is the type of Nairobi home we remember growing up in during the 1970s. We didn't know that those homes still exist. As many were destroyed for the purpose of building new apartment blocks and houses. And yes, the Swahili homes of Zanzibar and Lamu still provoke beautiful memories. Hope to see more of this style of home, as cold, moody London does not compare! Asante sana.

Such a lovely house, I like the exposed brick, the high vaulted ceilings with wooden beams and wall of windows. The vast beautiful gardens, the birds chirping....I’m totally sold. The only bummer is the dated kitchen, double vanities in the master would be great. Overall a great house for those with traditional tastes

What a beautiful home. Very charming. I'm off to watch the video about its history. I generally prefer modern interiors but I can appreciate the colonial-era tradition of this house. The garden is absolutely beautiful. I could spend an entire day outdoors, weather permitting. To sit there on a lovely, sunny Nairobi afternoon with a book or a newspaper, have lunch...to watch it from that living room on a rainy day...beautiful. Just beautiful.

What a beautiful house. My biggest problem in tropical countries is if the place is not screened, there will be mosquitoes, lizards and other things coming into the house. Can't stand lizards. I would just add a few things of my taste, but I like most of the furniture.

My dream house
This house is quite peculiar due to the design inside, though on the first sight it looks like a common cottage. I like the secret space hidden by the mirror in the master room. I just wonder what is the story and the issue beyond... Good job guys

IMPRESSIVE! Feels like am comin home to my filthy rich villager grandparents hahah! Just a note though, the Masters bathroom, shower area: I'd prefer the flooring to have some kinda lining to prevent the water from messing up, noticeably the entire flooring is all plain levelled, didn't even see the drainage (?)-- should be positioned closest to the tap or shower floor direction. And for a luxury house like this, shouldn't there be a servant's quarter? (Maybe there is, but u missed showing n d video?) Overall, it's very lovely, a dream for many. I'd love it as a family vacation house. Oh i like that tiny "hiding room" upstairs! Can play hide n seek with my dog or hide from burglars lol Thanks VH for sharing, well done! All d best. Cheers! X
