I totally agree... Respectfully in my opinion, there are at least one or two reviews they did this month that seemed unnecessary compared to "FIST"... which is a real shame, because this game needs more exposure.

It’s ironic because both super Metroid and symphony of the night were mostly ignored when they came out. It was incredibly hard to find copies because they were rare in stores. It wasn’t until years later, and mostly due to the Internet, that people eventually picked up on them. So it is a bit of a legacy of the genre for people to miss out on great things when they are new.

Glad you guys covered this. I already platinumed it. It's a very good game, just a little bit challenging, but nothing impossible, especialy if you get all upgrades. They will add an easy mode, but I wouldn't play on that.

I only recently learned this game was a metroidvania, I'd thought it was a linear beat-em-up. And now with this video, well, Huber's hyped me up. Gonna be the next game I play after I finish Flynn: Son of Crimson.
So, when this game got announced, I thought they named their city Port City (It's actually Torch City). And in that brief moment, I was like "Man, I really hope I don't have to get into a legal battle with the makers of this later. Especially since we both have a lot of humanoid animals in our respective series........"
For anyone holding off on this game, if you like metroidvania games, stop messing around and just pick it up, it’s really solid, competent, well built and good fun
Bought it day one and really liking it even though it had ZERO buzz sadly. Is it a masterpiece ? No. Must play ? Not really. Memorable and fun ? YES. I'm just stuck on the twin bosses right now but I have to say the mood of the game is really great, and the combat is pretty unique because it feels like a fighter (you have to stick to animations logic to do combos, cant spam things and hope it works). Thank you Huber for talkin bout it (even though you never read comments :( )
There are a lot of new IP games eating right now. Gamers need to support that. Honestly, I think new games should get some kind of bump in review score just to acknowledge that it is a fresh idea.
This game was fantastic. It's been ghosted by many because it's made by a Chinese developer... I just grabbed the platinum for it, but that was not quite as fun as the main story. I would say the main game is a 10/10 but if you are going for 100% you'll quickly see that the game is way more hard core than your usual Metrovania. They even patched in a fighting game in it called "Slum fight". Strongly recommend this game.
Chinese devs are on a roll lately, F.I.S.T.'s presentation looks crazy polished for an indie title and I'm glad it's getting great reviews for it's gameplay as well.
Feel like this hasn't been advertised very well. was waiting for it and all of a sudden I found out it was out in two days, and then found out it wasn't coming to steam straight off either. Visually this looks so great so the only reason not to be hyped for it is if you don't know about it so this was a much appreciated syndrome. Even if it's just for people to stick on their steam wishlist.

I am glad that you enjoyed this game but there is no way it is as good as you are saying it is. The story is very meh. The dialog is god awful in terms of translation to English. The speech is all over the place (sometimes characters with speaking roles will switch to text only for no reason). The combat is about the only thing the game has going for it and even then there are plenty of cheap enemy encounters. You couldn't point to anything that didn't feel good? Your attacks are horribly delayed and the hitbox of your weapons is so specific that it consistently leads to missed attacks or opening yourself up to being attacked. Maybe it's because I have been putting myself through my own personal hell with my playthrough of this, what I have said a few times, god awful game, but your review sounds like we're playing two completely different games all together.
Love Huber but that statement is not entirely true. Yes, you only play on one save file, and it overwrites itself with autosave. However, you copy a save file multiple times in the main menu, so you can backup your save this way.

And, it's not a button masher. You have to time your combos, healing, jumps and dashes very well.

Art direction looks heavily influenced by FF7. Look at 6:08...look at the background. Midgar anyone? :)

Guacamelee! 2 and Yoku's Island Express are good lesser talked about games.
GRIME is pretty neat. It's a souls-like metroidvania which can be pretty challenging at times.

It's a really good game, but the hit-detection is problematic and the combat animation priority is ATROCIOUS, so I hope they patch the game soon

Only one savefile sounds dumb. Backup saves is essential in games.... Crashes/corrupt saves etc happens

I knew back when I played the demo for this that it was something special. Huber is absolutely right, this is a jump right in game.
