  • Taman Negara Bako National Park in Sarawak Borneo - a 25-minute boat ride from Kuching - was our first real Jungle encounter. We spent 1 night in one of their Forrest Lodges (Type 4 House 1) and we recommend staying (at least) 1 night in the Park because the last boat back leaves the park at 3 PM. Otherwise, your one-day trip would be very short. Book your night’s stay in advance or you might not be able to stay the night as it is a very popular place. Believe us, it’s worth it. Apart from the Lodges, there’s also a Dorm and a Campground for the adventurous ;-).‘Pack light’ is what we read all over the internet and that is what we did. We called our next hotel, Kuching Park Hotel, and they were OK with us dropping our main backpacks at their hotel 1 day early, as we would spend the night in the Park. This way we only packed what we really needed for 1 night in Camp into our daypacks and traveled light. If you like hiking, spotting animals & insects (not so much mosquitoes ;-) you’ll love this place just… don’t forget your rain jacket!
The jungle is wet, slippery, humid, and hot and at the same time gives you a great workout and is stunningly beautiful. If you ask us, a must-do when in Borneo. Enjoy the video-impression guys and drop us a line, like the video, and subscribe 🙏🏼. Terima Kasih
