    Tilta, best known for their camera cages and Nucleus Follow Focus systems, adds another item to their manufacturing list. Indeed, at NAB 2024, the Chinese company has just introduced the Cine Tripod series with two 75mm cine fluid head tripods (CT08 and CT12), while a third heavy-duty model (CT25) should come at a later date.

    These are on the pricier end of the Sachtler knockoffs but they're the best looking I've seen yet, I always dig Tilta's aesthetics.

    I use a fair number to Tilta products and tend to think their designs and build quality hit a sweet spot for performance and value. Yes, it’s important to see how these actually perform, but it wouldn’t surprise me if they stand out as excellent. Let the reviews come!

    Maybe I'm the wrong target buyer, but I can't imagine getting into the already-saturated tripod market and NOT having quick leg deployment like we're seeing more of. Even cheap SmallRig legs at least have a single point of adjustment, versus the CT08 having THREE per leg. Just such a weird choice, but again, maybe I'm the wrong target.

    Not sure about the minimum payload for the counter balance system... The CT-12, at half of it, 6kg, it's still pretty heavy in a lot of use cases, If they can reduce it to 3kg or even less, it would be much more versatile.
    But the legs looks nice, especially with the option to use 100mm heads, would love to see how much it would cost only for it, might grab one !

    i've looking for a new tripod and all the new ones are ok but have quality issues here and there when i've seen them from reviewers who aren't trying to sell the product. I might just have to run with Tilta

    If you need a new head without paying too much, get a Manfrotto 608 or 612. I love mine, it can be precisely adjusted, has a great quick release system and it’s built like a tank.
    Then at least you know the brand and service is availible near you and not a small town in China.

    I'm waiting on Tilta to sell the heads separately, the CT08 competes with the new Sachtler Ace XL MKII and that retails for $655, if the price is right this Tilta offering might be the way to go

    currently i cannot justify carrying ct8 for small sets due to its weight and sice, the ifootage tc5 is a good option, wish tilta sell their heads seperatly so i can match tc3 with tilta head. If they can develop something similar weight and payload to tc5 and match one of their heads to make a light weight comble I will get it for quick and small setups

    I am sorry, i like Tilta, but these are near Sachtler prices for a Chinese brands entry into the market.
    No thanks.
    If they are established for a few years, and their fluid heads have proven themselves in the field, we could talk about it.
    But now? Tilta is getting a bit too arrogant here.

    • @sonervisuals
      @sonervisuals Před 4 měsíci +4

      899 for the lowest entry is indeed a bit too much compared to other manufacturers like Smallrig

      My dude. The Sachtler Aktiv8 with Flowtech 75 legs costs about three times as much ($3500). You have clearly never bought a Sachtler tripod before.

    • @TDCIYB77
      @TDCIYB77 Před 4 měsíci

      @@PhilNavidson The Flowtech sure does, but you can buy a new Sachtler Head like Ace XL with the same payload for 650$ and Carbon Legs for the same or less.
      Or buy a proven budget king like the E-Image GH06 for 400-500$.
      I am okay to spend good money on a proven brand and product, because i know that investment will last.
      And THAT is missing here. Tilta thinks they can capitalize on their influencer marketing, instead of proving themselves first.
